I gave in and forked out to choose my seats. I've picked near the front so it won't hopefully take too long to get my cuppa. It peeves me when my row is the last to be served.
First world problems, eh?0 -
NoodleDoodleMan said:As above, if you do not choose specific seats as available before the first check in window opens then TUI will allocate 48 hours before flight time and you can download and print then.
Take off time 13:40 (local time Greece) Friday.
Tried to check in online at !3:40 48 hours before flight.
Didn't work.
After talking to TUI chat, it appears that check-in opens 48 hours before the UK time, not local time.
Seemed odd to me.
Never pay for short haul seats, never been separated any further than across the aisle.
On TUI and Jet2 they start the drinks service from both the back and front.Baled said:strawb_shortcake said:
I did think he'd move, but probably more as a societal norm and people liking space, but he wasn't infringing on my personal space so it would have probably been quite rude. Had they have been much larger and touching me or smelly then I would have certainly suggested it.la531983 said:
As a species we are screwed if someone cant pluck up the courage to suggest to someone to move down one seat so they both get more space.TheShape said:
Shocking behaviour! It should be illegal to sit next to someone if there is the abilty to leave a seat free between you.strawb_shortcake said:I flew easyjet last week, I had the window seat, I had a stranger sat next to me and the aisle seat was free. Being around row 17 seems to be the worst wait for service.0 -
The OP and family fly out today - hope all is good, have a great holiday,A report on return would be appreciated - just to bring closure or highlight any dramas, God forbid.0

Flight was pretty full so I was glad I had paid to choose my seat.
Bizarrely, the couple I got chatting to in Starbucks whilst the flight was delayed were the very people I ended up sitting next to in my row. They had already picked their seats when I chose mine. What are the odds? 😂0 -
Ooops my bad, apologies.Somehow I got it into my dumb head that it was a group scenario.May I ask where you flew to - how were the passport control queues on arrival ?I hear Malaga, for example, has been a bit heavy going recently.0

Both Málaga and Liverpool were both busy going through arrivals passport control in July and August
You could see the shiny new automatic consoles ready to be used but alas had to make do with 3 officials instead0 -

The passport control was much worse at Gran Canaria last year - all the GB passport holders were directed to the automatic gates and other passport holders including myself were waiting in a very slow moving queue with only 2 manned desks open and then older/more infirm people kept being fast tracked through our queue but that's as it should be. By the time they said we could use the automatic gates I had reached the front of the queue for the manned desk so I stayed put.0 -
Interesting - I'm in the process of applying for FBR to get Irish citizenship and a RoI passport. We go through Malaga twice a year at least - they have an EU lane there, hence my ambition to use it !!!What is the problem in Greece - or is it only Corfu ?0
