Morning all, wet here, it has been on and off over the last few days. I woke at 6 but lay reading for an hour to avoid waking DH up too early. He had to go back to the hospital on Sunday for a new dressing and then yesterday for a check up. He's doing ok and is down to 1 stick now. Had the clips removed but 1 little hole is still bleeding so another new dressing.I took the DGC to the next town on the bus so DGD could get a new school coat, they didn't have the one she wanted so she got a cheap one in Prim**k to tide her over, and the other has been ordered. Then school shoes. DGS was bored so we headed back and had a late lunch in their fave cafe. Unfortunately the service has really gone off, we waited ages for someone to take the order, then ages for the food to comeGot soaked earlier, and I don't think Lendog likes the rain.Actually it probably hasn't rained since we got him until this week.Sorry about the jetlag @Coxy11@nannywindow DH is muttering about his laptop as I type!I need to get something out for tea. I was going to have an order today but got sidetracked and lost the slot, so had to rebook for tomorrow.Right better get on with my jobs, time is marching on,take care.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all, thanks @Coxy for starting us off - sorry to hear you've had such an early start to the day and I hope normal service will be resumed asap!
Well, the weather man got it wrong yesterday - no rain, no thunder - it was a lovely day. He might be right today though as it's already drizzling and has been since early doors; it looks as if it's set in for the day too. Top temps only 18 deg.
Yesterday I had a walk over to the PO to pay in a cheque and didn't need a coat as it was so pleasant out. Had lunch when I got back and then decided to do the Co-op trip too - only a small shop with a spend of just under £4. I took a detour on the way home past the Free Library for a browse but there wasn't anything that appealed so nothing borrowed this time. No matter, I still have plenty of reading material to get through.
Usual housework tasks today with two wash loads to go in, stairs and landing to be hoovered and that's about it. Tea tonight will be a cod & parsley fishcake with mushy peas, rice pudding with a dollop of jam for afters.
@Chrisca - Oh dear, sorry to hear your WM isn't doing what it should. As per Gers' suggestion, maybe a clothes horse over the bath/in the shower?
@Gers - That's a shame about being dispensed the wrong cream and yes, it is a waste when it can't be returned to stock.
@SO - I think this year is the first time my boiler service appointment was booked for a day/time that suited me. I hope you can get yours changed.
@remmie - Well done you on biting the bullet for cataract removal. Give yourself a pat on the back.
@dp1 - Glad you enjoyed your break and that LO is doing so well, long may it continue. Your tale about the cat dragging in a rabbit through the cat flap made me laugh - it must have been one heck of a strong and/or determined cat!
@nanny - As well as the pre-hols cleaning obsession, another one is changing over the summer curtains, cushion covers etc to the winter ones and vice versa. I'm sure we make work for ourselves!
Have a good day all and take care, hugs for the poorly ones (and their carers). XBe kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
Yorkslass - it was a big ginger cat we had called Biscuit - both strong and determined. He could open all the doors in the house and I had to put child locks on the kitchen cupboards otherwise he would get inside and eat whatever he could get into!3
