Halifax Clarity Credit Card

For years I've been using this abroad for spending as it was fee free.  Just noticed it no longer appears on MSE's list of recommended cards for spending abroad - so just checking it is still fee free and that I haven't missed any changes to t & c?   Thanks in advance

Yes it's still fee free.  I use the Halifax Clarity card and recently checked the legal documentation.

Used it last month and still fee-free on spending. Think it's fell out 'best' list as others do cashback and also fee free/interest free cash but clarity charges interest from the date of withdrawal so avoud withdrawing cash.

It's better to check Halifax directly - https://www.halifax.co.uk/creditcards/travel.html (top result of google search for 'halifax clarity'

No fees from Monzo but more and more ATM's impose their own fees. Apart from using a Santander card in Spain at a Santander ATM is there a way to avoid ATM fees?

Use a fee free card for all payments and don't use cash unless absolutely necessary. Take some cash in advance but only use it where you have to.

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Be advised - as long as it's a fully branded Banco Santander ATM located at a branch - standalone cajeros run by a separate network (European Automatic Cash) are only fee free for domestic Spanish BS card holders by agreement.
