Yes, I think I went for every Monday, automatically, but I'll have to login and check. Nothing in account yet, so probably next Monday.MyRealNameToo said:

I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was, and how cheap the card reader was (c.£20).
Fees are simply 1.69% of all card transactions.
In London everyone seems to have them, inc Big Issue sellers, buskers, market stalls and even some beggars.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I am in a similar position being treasurer for a local branch of a gardening group who needed to get a card reader for the occasional event. I too tried the Sumup reader but had problems as we are not a business, charity or sole trader. Despite sending copies of my driving licence, our Lloyds account and photographs of myself we were rejected and Argos refused to take back the machine as the box had been opened but did eventually after a complaint. For the event one of our members who used to have a business used her Sumup reader and I took our bank account details so I could do bank transfer as backup. Like you my phone is not up to tap and pay. Several other stalls had a Zettle reader and said that was simple so I tried that. However Paypal now own Zettle so I first had to get a Paypal business account, send more copies of ID, bank details and photographs of myself. Like you I didn't want any personal connection We have a two day event this weekend and I have tested it at home and it seems to work so fingers crossed (but I'll still have bank transfer as backup!)

I'm glad you were more successful than me.
In case this helps anyone else:
The Flowershow has its own email address, which more than one of us can check.
I set up another for finance which only I can see, and told SumUp we were a community group, can't remember the exact wording. After selecting various options, it said to proceed as a sole trader.
When adding the app to other phones, I told people to use the finance email address and shared the SumUp pw I'd used. If I was paranoid (and perhaps I should be), I could now change the SumUp pw ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

Set up a Zettle account not a PayPal account0

iZettle was bought by PayPal and as time goes on they are ever deeper integrated. The Zettle name is going to be dropped and it's being renamed PayPal Point of Sale soon which is a shamepenners324 said:Set up a Zettle account not a PayPal account
You cannot sign up for a "zettle" account any more. If you go to their website and hit join you are taken to open a PayPal Business account.1
