UKPC overstay time.

It's been a few years since I've received one of these. So wasn't sure if the game has changed as. Also I had a lease car before but now I have my own car. Letter was received in the post. It was via an ANPR camera. 

As the registered keeper I have had a parking invoice sent to me on the 1st August for over stay in a Matalan, M&S car park. 

I asked the owner I know of one of the shops to get it cancelled. They have emailed a week ago UKPC asking to get it cancelled but no response yet. 

Just had this sent to me after sending the standard reply from the newbies thread..



Now I can't find what the next step was. It is to acquire a POPLA code? Then appeal to POPLA Or do I wait to see if it gets cancelled by the owner of one of the shops. 

I can't find the respone I need after the initial reply from UKPC.

How many minutes over  ?

They are asking for proof of patronage as a genuine customer,  so provide it

Ideally you want the landlord to get it cancelled but if the business has asked for it,  hopefully it will be cancelled

Hi, 

I was at the gym, i overstayed by 12 mins. I have no receipts. Even if I did, I still stayed over allowed time so they won't care? they also have not explained about any grace periods which they are supposed too? 

I have asked the manager of the gym to email them again to get it cancelled. They have given me 2 weeks according to that letter to respond with a . Do I wait now to see if the ticket is cancelled by the manage. What if they do not respond to him or cancel the ticket, i then request for POPLA code?

Grace periods are in the joint code of practice,  so they don't have to explain them

The minimum period is 10 minutes,  so easy to explain any extra few minutes 

Wait for the cancellation,  if it doesn't happen then they will consider the appeal as was

ah ok so I was over by 2 mins! Dicks! Yea, I will get on him to chase it up.

Tell the gym to either cancel the PCN or cancel your gym membership.

ANPR doesn't record parking time, only time on site. Grace periods (should) start from when the vehicle is parked. It takes a finite time to get from the entrance to a parking space, and from the parking space to the exit.

Ah interesting 🤔 that's true it takes a while to get parked in that car park too!
