Electric Under floor heating costs

Hi. I'm thinking about DIY electric underfloor heating over concrete floor probably around 50m2 with laminate or lvt over the top.
Has anyone recently done anything like this and how much did it cost?

Do you have any idea of how much this WILL cost to run? It's a very big area to heat with electricity. And what sort of 'concrete floor' is it? Unless it's a concrete slab over hard foam insulation you'll probably need decent insulation on the top that will increase significantly  thicknes of the new floor.
  • Hi thanks for your comments and yes I have considered both issues. I don't have gas or an existing wet heating system at my home so gas boilers or heat pump are likely to be cost prohibitive (I make too much money to be able to access any grants and I'm too old for a £15k investment to be value for money!) The skirting boards are 12"deep and there is sufficient allowance at the thresholds for 50mm insulation. I do have economy 7, solar and a wood burner so this seems like a good solution for quick controllable top up/background heat when it is really cold I'm planning on zoning so it won't all be running full chat all the time  I just want to get an idea of cost so I can validate some of my assumptions, or not!
    Thanks
