I was curious as to whether this would only alert to phones with an active SIM card installed, so I switched on an old device which is WI-FI only. I was half expecting that this would also receive the notification as, after all, even without a SIM card it can make emergency calls.
My curiosity was satisfied when the device failed to react at all in any way to the notification.
Assuming I had not set the device to ignore notifications in the past.0 -
On both my Android and iphone the button to stop the alarm also dismissed the message, and there's no (at least obvious) way to retrieve the message, so I have no idea what it said.
Which makes the whole thing pretty useless.0 -

Bit of an anti climax.
Waited specifically for siren to go off, nothing. Checked the screen and message was there, together with incoming text.0 -

All worked perfectly on my iPhone.
For those that want to read the message....

Whether it worked or not, it's a test and that's why we have tests!
When the alert landed my phone made a noise it's never made before, and I had to read the alert before I could use my phone as normal. All fine and reasonable.1 -
On my Samsung cancelling the siren also wiped the message, and there was no SMS or other notification. That's fine for a test but wouldn't be very helpful in an actual emergency other than letting me know to go and search online for what it was about.0

Off button for me. 😃 I did have a laugh at a comment I read:
"Mine was nine minutes late if it had been a nuclear warning I would not have had enough time to hide under table.". 😂0
