Suitable life insurance/assurance

Im 60 years old, small amount of savings that probably won't last long, living in LA housing so no mortgage. Looking for suitable policy that would pay out in the event of my death to cover the relatively small cost of a direct cremation. Advice would be greatly appreciated

Given you are going to die at some point are you sure whole of life assurance is the right way to go over a funeral plan?0

Im 60 and in good health. As you have a very strong chance of living another 20 years or more any insurance you take out is going to poor value unless you meet an untimely early death. In you shoes I would simple set aside a small amount each month and possibly buy a pre-paid cremation when you have enough.
If you did die with insufficient assets to pay your funeral costs, there is no obligation for your relatives to pay for it, the LA will meet the costs of a simple cremation in those situations.https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/public-health-funerals-good-practice-guidance/public-health-funerals-good-practice-guidance
