Help needed..
We have booked a flight out to Stockholm for the end of February and are finding it increasingly difficult to find accomadation for 3 adults (ideally 3 seperate beds) in Stockholm (at less then £45/per/person/night.... Not fussy on the quality of the establishment as long as its in a good location, clean and has nice toilets/washing facilities. Can anyone recommend a place to stay apart from the conveyor belt multinational hotels...
Also I would be greatful if people who know Stockholm can recommend bars to hit, clubs to go, places to go... we're all mid-20s and not really into museums! and there for a fri/sat night.
Ta in advance

If you want the top trendy bars then head for the Stureplan area. You can get the names of many of these by checking the pictures section at the bottom of the Stockhoms Finest website (Not treally my scene but Riche has a really cool building and Cafe Opera is where the celebs and wanabees hang out). For more laid back bars, clubs and restaurants head for Södermalm which is the area south of Gamla Stan (the Old Town). Many of these are on Götagatan which runs down the middle of the island between Slussen and Skanstull tube stations. Gamla Stan is very touristy but has a couple of decent pubs (Wirströms being one of them).
I'm not an expert on accommodation but you could try checking the youth hostels many of which have private rooms and facilities (http://www.stfturist.se/). There are also a number of boat hotels which are pretty central. Try the Stockholm Hotel Reviews section on Tripadvisor.
Even if you don't like museums I'd still recommend the Vasa Museet which is basically the Mary Rose without 400 years of decay.
February still has the potential to be very cold so it's worth checking the five day forecast on the BBC website.0 -
Alcohol is very expensive so if you like a tipple make sure you buy some on your way out airside at your airport of departure. That way you can enjoy a drink in your hotel before you go out without paying through the nose. This tip was recommended to me before going to Iceland, and it's stood me in good stead both in Sweden and Finland!Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...0

We stayed at this hotel at the end of November http://www.hotelbema.se/pricelist.html
The page indicates the prices, just over £100 for a 3 bed room during the week and £80 at the weekend.
It was fairly basic but we had an ensuite, tv and got a basic breakfast in our room. They were quite good at responding to email as well. The hotel was situatied about a 5/10 min walk from the bus/train station and we found it ok.0 -

Thank You - most useful
Could you recommend a website for Stockholm which is in English...both mentioned above with .se I am finding difficult to understand. Also are there any websites which you would recommend where we could rent an appartment central? or in Södermalm0 -
Official Stockholm tourist site has some good info in English.
STF does have some English pages but there's no separate web address. There should be a UK flag visible on the top right of the homepage.
The forums on Tripadvisor have a lot of good info posted by a number of regulars. Try posts by Skrutt for bar and club info. Stockholms Finest is only in Swedish but has pictures for lots of places that Skrutt recommends.
Not sure about apartments but again I think the question has been asked on tripadvisor at some point. There might be something in the traveller reviews section.
You could also try asking on the forums at www.thelocal.se which is where a lot of ex-pats can be found.0
