Morning all. Pinch punch, first of the month. August was seen off by torrential rain and blustery winds.

Morning All
Thanks Gers, September has also started with strong winds and torrential rain, I was woken up at 4.50 by rain battering against the bedroom window!
Yesterday's rain didn't arrive until later so washing was dried outside (I took it in when I went out and put it back out when I got home), garden tidied, greenhouse sorted and Costco visited. The fuel at Costco is 10p per litre cheaper than locally.
Also visited HB for some toiletry supplies, also got a rubber boot liner and back seat cover for the car that were really cheap, I always seem to be carting about plants or veggies that make the car really mucky!
Back to the grind today, I bought home some cutting out but didn't manage to get it done - too much time buying plants for the big pots at school to make it look nice.
Hope everyone is well and those on holiday are having a great time. Take care. XX13 -
Morning, thanks Gers.
Seems fine here, yesterday wasn't bad either, we had some showers but no real rain.
September already, where has the year gone?
I didn't go out yesterday after all, just got a bit done at home.
Izzy, meant to say yesterday, how kind you were to that poor man, he'll never forget it. You mentioned B*nMarche jeans - I always bought them, but I' m now between their sizes. A 12 is too tight, and I'm too old for the sprayed on jeans look, and the 14 is too big, so that's my dilemma. There used to be a local shop chain called Geordie Jeans and they did between sizes - 11,13 etc. Then, I was their size 11, but they closed. I would be bigger than an 11 now though.
I like cords in the winter as well.
It's the Book Club this morning, then this afternoon I'll spend a couple of hours with my old friend up the road.
Hope everyone is ok, and the holidaymakers are enjoying their time away. Thought to the sad and poorly, take care folks14 -
Morning allBlue sky out there at the moment. May become damp later in the day.No plans today except DS popping in to borrow some ramps to service his car.I've got a glass display cabinet that I think I'll give a clean/clear out and maybe put some items away as it's a bit crowded with odds and ends that DH has been adding to over the months too.Have a good day all xx11

Morning from an overcast Nidderdale. Sunshine and showers are forecast. Yesterday was lovely apart from one torrential downpour from nowhere mid afternoon.
I saw more of DGD than I expected to. She said she has come to keep me company not just her friends bless her. She is well away with her crocheting now so I'm glad I persevered with her.
Scarlet I'm in the same dilemma as you with jeans. BON M was always my go to shop but can't see any to suit these days. And skinny ones are a big no no!
DGD still.in bed and don't expect to see her any time soon. Have a good day folks take care. IZZY how kind you.are. xx

Ablutions done and bedroom straightened.I didn't go out yesterday, the weather gradually worsened until the dreadful wind arrived closely followed by the rain. My poor plants are well and truly battered. My day was spent in doing a little'ish online shopping spree. I'd been looking for a proper blazer type jacket for ages, something smart and bright. Yesterday I found a beautiful and practically pink one in Hobbs, grabbed 10% off first order and it's on the way. This carried on, ordered a new dress ( I only have one), a jumper and an electric toothbrush. I can justify it all
especially as I've lost weight and am going to a civil ceremony in early October. Although my purse took a walloping everything will get used and cherished.
Today is weekly banking day, monthly is best done on the second, and then exercise class. I've already prepped my chicken salad lunch as I like to come back and eat almost immediately. There may be a slight delay today as I've offered to help an much more elderly woman at the class to set up her new iPad, with some luck someone else will have done it already.I hope that everyone had a great weekend, dancing, singing, shopping, lazing, gardening and painting walls. Hugs to all.13 -
Morning all.
Recovering from a busy weekend here, where I did an awful lot of driving.
Today I plan to get the bus to the City Centre and the car can stay put for a few days. DH is out to lunch with his friends so I can do a bit of catching up at home. Remainder of the shepherd's pie to eat and might make a cake.
Happy 1 September everyone.14 -
Good morning all, September already, where has this year gone?
It was sunny when I got up, but is now clouding over. Rain is forecast later.
Mrs ND came home from hospital yesterday. Hopefully she has finished her treatment for now, but has regular check ups. She has lost lots of weight, but says Mr ND will soon build her up. Her hair is starting to grow back, she calls it her Sinead O'Connor look. Bless her, shes so positive.
Today DH is off for a blood test, I'm going to get some shopping while he's at the GPs. No idea what's for tea, will see what I buy. Yesterdays roast was so so, OH enjoyed it but I thought it could be improved, getting there.
Have a good day, hugs to all who need them take care.13 -
Good morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Love the sound of the pink blazer ❤️
We landed at Heathrow at 11am yesterday after a 9.5 hour flight, home for 2pm to a dead squirrel in the hall who had taken the bait but not before running amok in the house and messing 😱 We spent the first 1.5 hours back cleaning and disinfecting but I’m going to hire a rug doctor carpet cleaner today to satisfy myself that everything is fully clean. DS2 will help me move furniture. DH and DD are working today so I have already started the holiday washing and will also do a food shop. I also need to tally up our spends - we had a currency cash card but did charge a couple of meals to the CC.

Good morning 😊
First of September, it is.
I don’t know if it’s psychological, but it felt more chilly when I woke up this morning. It might be time for sleeping under the duvet again. This last month, we’ve been fine with a blanket on top.
Lots of chores completed this morning, and I’m making the most of the few dry hours we get before the rainfall, to put the washing out. It just means a mad dash to bring it all in when the sky goes dark.
Dinner tonight is sweet chilli chicken skewers, with chilli noodles for the meat eaters, and I have a portion of curry which I made and froze a few weeks back. I’m still determined to empty the small freezer, somI can defrost it, but it’s making slow progress.
That can’t have been nice finding the squirrel @Coxy11 😲
Hope you all have a good day 😊11 -
