Hello team
If we buy something and get a free goody bag as a promotion are we obliged to return the goody bag if we return the item?
E.g. spend £100 get goody bag

That will depend on the T&C of the promotion.0

I agree with this, but the short answer to the OP's post is usually yes, you are.TELLIT01 said:That will depend on the T&C of the promotion.0 -
Massively open to abuse otherwise, and I’m sure with that companies are already fully aware of people taking advantage just for a freebie. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Yes. The condition of the bag is that you spend £100, if you return an item (even if it was only worth £1), and that results in you having only spent £99, you have not met the £100 criteria. so have lost the right to keep the bag.
Same goes for supermarket buy 2 get 1 free offers. You can't buy three, return two, and then expect to keep the third for free.
• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
Well - I'd say that's different, because you'd be returning the free one and one of the priced ones.vacheron said:Yes. I would guess that in the T&Cs there will be something about returns and the gift. i.e. "the gift is valued at £25 (even if it isn't really worth that much) so should your returns take you below £100 then you will need to pay for the gift".I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. But the OP was proposing to return the £100 of paid goods and keep the free goody bag, so exactly returning the two paid for yoghurts and keeping the free yoghurt.prowla said:

The word "free" is conditional on a spend of a certain amount.lon_85 said:Hello team

So if you return the item, you have no longer spent the correct amount so the item is no longer free.
You usually have to either return it or pay for it (so if it's worth £20 your refund would ve less then £20 if you don't want to return it).
The T&C will specify if it's free and doesn't have to be returned.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
