Morning allEnjoy your holiday Ruby. Hopefully you'll catch up on your sleep on the plane. Enjoy the Dales Allie. A favourite of mine.It looks like a wet week is on the cards so just hung some bedding out. Waiting for food delivery. Curry for dinner and then footie on the tv with a bit of reading my new book inbetween times.I also watched The Thursday Murder Club last night and really enjoyed it. I read the book when it first came out and can't really remember the plot so can't compare the storyline. Hope they make another one eventually.Have a good day all x10

Hi everyone,
Steve has just taken our little cat visitor home. She keeps very much to herself when she is here but she is 18 now so I can't blame her.
I've got a full day of cooking and baking for the week ahead. I made granola yesterday and will prep or part prep a few other meals to make life easier in Bristol.
Have a good break everyone.10 -
Hello all, another who didn't sleep well and was still awake at 5am. I developed a cough and I'm sneezing, I hope it will pass quickly as we have a birthday party to go to tomorrow, DGS is 16 ! I'll have to pack up his presents and write his card later, although he's having mainly money I like to give him something to open too.
Yesterday we had a stormy day with almost constant heavy rain so I did all the dreaded ironing, took me 2 hrs with breaks but now all the holiday clothes are on hangers ready to transfer straight to the van wardrobe.
I have some beef cooking in gravy in the slow cooker and I'll do roasties with veg for tea. Nothing much else will be going on, just a bit of pottering and a lot of slothing.
I hope all the holidayers have a great time away.
Take care all

A very late Good Morning from me, I've had an unaccustomed lie-in this morning so am all at sixes and sevens - good job it's a Slothful Sunday! Everything outside is looking so much fresher, thanks to heavy overnight rain. Today we're forecast a day of sunny intervals mixed with showers and a moderate breeze, might get up to 20 deg.
Well, here we are at the end of August with a new month to look forward to. The year is passing much more quickly than I'd like.I have no particular plans for today apart from a tidy up of socks and undies; there won't be any to bin - it's more of a change the drawers they're in to make better use of the space. For dinner I'm using up leftover chicken casserole with broccoli and potatoes and might even throw in a couple of dumplings. I've enjoyed lighter meals and salads over the summer but it's getting to that time of year when winter food starts to creep back in.
Happy holidays and safe travels to those venturing away from home. As always, thinking of the poorly and sleepless ones, hugs if needed or wanted. Take care all, have a good Sunday. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Afternoon all, wishing everyone who is on their travels a good time!DH had to go back to the hospital this morning as his knee wound was bleeding from under the dressing, they've put a new one on and put some extra padding there. He said it's only a little hole near a clip. The nurse has combined his appts for next week as they were on 2 separate days so that was good.Ds took him up and I went walking the dog. I met J by chance who is a friend of DB2 & SiL so we walked together part of the way & had a good catch up.I am doing some beef in the Ninj@ later - the one I swapped with DS and haven't used much as it's pretty heavy, but it is on a trolley that I can wheel to a plug. Tried it out last week with success, you can part pressure cook then finish off with steam air fry ( I think
) As you say YorksLass it feels like the very summery meals are over and done with now . I'd better prep some spuds and veg to go with it, I haven't got a pud either so might bake a cake if I have time.
@Izzy you have a good heartwell done.
