Does anyone happen to know if their referral links can be used in conjunction with SIPP cashback deal which expires tomorrow? They are closed at weekends otherwise I would call them and ask! Thanks

Yes, the referral link and cashback can be used together. I did this earlier in the year when I transferred pensions to ii for both myself and wife.

Their cashback deal has been ending at the end of each month for a few months now. Don't be surprised if it is still available on Monday.

Just a pity it's new customers only as I'd be happy to incrementally shift more of my pension funds towards them...

If they do continue the offer next month then I face a dilemma. InvestEngine has just started offering transfers in from HL where my current SIPP resides. I've never held a SIPP with II, and could make some profit taking up the offer, but in 12 months would need to move again, possibly twice if I want to get to InvestEngine. There was little chance of me moving to Vanguard (the only provider they'd previously accept transfers from), as that would involve selling my current holdings, but it is now looking very easy to find a longer term home for my SIPP and for the sake of passing up £200-300 all in all, I might just do that.

Well that's just marvellous isn't it... I've wanted to utilise InvestEngine's offer for a while but given their limitation of transferring from Vanguard, it's not been possible. And now they will take HL... just as I've already transferred out of HL. Great timing!

Not quite sure why they are so specific about who they will take transfers from but I can only hope this is the start of them opening up to the rest of the market.

The reason they are able to undercut the competition is that they have automated everything and cut their costs to the bone, so they can get away without employing many staff. Pension transfers are a bit of a minefield where lots can go wrong, requiring manual intervention. I suspect they have a very small team developing the connectivity for a specific electronic process, which they test thoroughly for each provider before letting the masses queue up requests. Annoying when you want to move to them.
Surprise surprise, ii have extended their cashback offer for another month. So I will need to decide whether to take it up and wait another year in the hope InvestEngine will have added ii by then, or go directly to the low fee option.

Are the transfers into InvestEngine doable in specie? Last I checked, they said they were "working on it".

I know that transfers out in specie are not currently possible which puts me off as I like to have the option to transfer elsewhere if a promotion comes up!
