SDP backdated payment - disregarded?

I think I've read on another link here that a backdated award of an SDP payment is disregarded indefinitely, if claiming UC?
A payment of in excess of £6,000 is due to be received so would this amount be disregarded?
I know I have to let UC know about the backdated award and payment.

Thanks very much.0 -
When you inform DWP of receipt of the backdated payment make sure you stress where the money has come from. If you can't embolden entries in your log (or whatever the term is), I would repeat that this is backdated payment of SDP.1

I would put the payment into a separate account so it's totally clear that the money (capital) is disregarded

I was thinking of doing this, my sister cannot open an account but my mum has her benefits paid to her. But as mum is elderly I think it would be easier to put this payment into an account in my name for my sister's funeral. At least that way it will not be part of my parents estate and no confusions at a later date, if that makes sense.HillStreetBlues said:I would put the payment into a separate account so it's totally clear that the money (capital) is disregarded0 -

UC have confirmed payment is disregarded
Transitional Protection on UC claim + back payment
Total time for ESA migration, new appointee, SDP request and UC claim completed(with LCWRA)

Thanks for everyone's help
