This thread had gone completely off topic. The OP asked for advice on how to tackle a CCJ for an acquaintance who appears to be illiterate. Arguing about whether an illiterate person can pass a driving test is not only irrelevant - but rude. As was the earlier conflation of illiteracy with a lack of mental capacity.People with reading difficulty have always been able to pass driving tests! They have great coping mechanisms - for life in general. How would anyone feel (reading all these ill-considered judgements on people you don’t know) if they do know someone with reading difficulties? Please stay on topic - with kind, helpful & relevant comments only.1

As was the earlier conflation of illiteracy with a lack of mental capacity.I SPECIFICALLY stated it was the legal definition relating to contract law and NO rudeness was intended.
A lot of us do not possess the mental capacity to understand many notices when on holiday abroad.

I believe this person is being helped by a trusted solicitor so no need to be concerned.
Let's leave this thread until they update with a win in the end!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
