Morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's a nice enough morning here, a bit cool, but it'll warm up.
I thought I might go to the Metro centre this morning, there's a Lak*land there and I could do with some freezer lsbels.
Dh might come with me, sometimes he enjoys the walk about, and there are plenty of seats if he needs a sit down. I won't be there for hours and hours, haven't got the stamina these days!
Hope everyone is ok and has good days. Thoughts to anyone who is sad or not well.
Take care folks.14 -

Morning folks and thanks GERS for kicking off. The sun is shining and the sky is blue, but not forecast to last. Yesterday, despite the forecast, it was a lovely sunny day and not a drop of rain all day.
Today I must pack an assortment of clothes for my caravan trip tomorrow. Then sort out food and get all the frozen stuff assembled ready to pack in the morning. I have made another menu plan to save waste at the end of my stay. DD and the youngest and eldest are back home from their stay as DD has 2 long night shifts this w/e and eldest DGD has an appointment at the hospital on Monday re her ankle. But youngest doesn't go back to school until Thursday so she is coming back with me tomorrow and DD will pick her up in readiness either Tuesday afternoon or early Wednesday. I doubt I will see a lot of her as one of her buddies is still there!
Have a lovely day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. RUBY enjoy your holiday, safe travels. And safe homeward bound journey COXY. Your holiday sounds wonderful. Take care all have a good w/e x

Morning all. Dull but dry here so far.
In a minute I'm off to BunkFest at Wallingford, in Oxfordshire, where I'll be playing for one of my Morris sides. Same trip again tomorrow for a different side! DH is going to make a shepherd's pie whilst I'm out so we can have that tonight. Yesterday I made a big chicken and chickpea curry so have frozen one portion and will have the remainder tomorrow. Have also discovered a few chocolate crinkle cookies in the freezer so will bring those out to defrost today.
Had a good morning with DD yesterday, shopping for a few school bits for the grandsons. We managed to find a pair of Startrite shoes in JL at 70% off and considered that a good bargain.
Happy Saturday everyone.13 -
It's bright though watery morning with rain coming, according to the forecast, in three hours. Today will be wet and tomorrow windy! My shopping trip was successful apart from the lack of two products in M&S. I asked the store manager about them, he was very engaging and explained that he keeps ordering cottage cheese but it never appears. Then the lovely olive oil salted crisps have been missing, plenty of the unsalted and two other varieties, he searched through the multiple boxes at the front door - all unsalted except for one so I took two packets. When home I emailed customer service about the gaps, I don't expect much satisfaction but writing the email did help.Today's events will be a surprise. I have two episodes of the new Dexter to catch up on, yesterday I watched Thursday Murder Club which was a fluffly joy. I really must not spend my day watching telly, repeating that phrase now.Happy holidays to those going off, happy Saturday to all.12

Morning everyone thanks for the start Gers I wish I had done my washing yesterday no showers although they were forecast we are supposed to get them later today hopefully it will all be dry by then .i went to my volunteering yesterday morning and a man who goes who’s wife has not long died came up to me and said how will I get this tie clean it was a white tie that had a few marks on but had been stuck in a draw for over fifty years so I told him and he just kept looking at me and holding the tie he said it’s what I got married in and I wanted to put it with her ashes so of course the tie is now washed and ironed at my house and I’m giving him it back next week they see me coming but as they say if you can’t do some one a good turn . Charity shop was busy we seemed to have a lot of young ones buying a young lad bought four American football tops I had just put out he was over the moon with them said they were quite expensive to buy nice to see them looking for a bargain he was only going to buy three but grandad helped him out with a sub so he could get all four he said he was a good lad nice to hear . There’s a makers market on at the community centre later I might pop round and have a look but other than that it will be dog walking and washing my windows inside another job I hate but it’s got to be done . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning All
The sun is shining at the moment but there are some dark clouds about. Washing on the line, hoping for at least half dry before the forecast of rain hits later.
Allotment this morning to have a tidy up, I'm fed up with courgettes now so hopefully they have slowed down! There should be some beans to pick and DD has given me an order for some onions. The greenhouse needs some attention too, not many tomatoes left but hoping they will ripen.
Sounds like you're having a wonderful time Coxy.
Have a great holiday Ruby, you deserve it.
Happy shopping Scarlet.
You're a gem Izzy!
Those shoes were a great bargain WL.
Must get going, I really feel that I could go back to bed, perhaps a nanna nap later!
Take care. XX12 -
Good morning 😊
I was late to rise, today. Didn’t want to get out of bed, but there was a bit of catch-up to do, and we are going to the theatre later, to see The Mousetrap, so I couldn’t lay dawdling. It’s sunny outside at the minute, so I have done a wash, and will put that out shortly. Even if it doesn’t dry fully before the rain starts, it will at least get a blow. I’ve also cleaned the bathrooms and done the hallway.
Dinner is an easy one tonight - salt & pepper chicken skewers for the meat eaters, with oven chips, and I am having vegan ribs with oven chips, and salad.
I’ve started a new book: Mark Yarwood, Murderson. It’s an easy read, so far. One False Move by Harlan Coben, was so-so. Not on my list of favourite books that I’ve read.
Time to finish my coffee and carry on with the chores.
Hope you all have a good day 😊8 -
Hi everyone,
Themsthebreaks, I'm a bit in the doldrums with my reading ATM. It's most unlike me, I've turned to a book by L M Alcott, Eight Cousins which I'm enjoying even if it's a bit twee. I shall follow up with the sequel, Rose in Bloom which I read as a teenager (my mum's copy).
I've woken with sinusitis, my face is very sore, hopefully I'll throw it off I really don't want to try to get a Dr appointment.
I've made a meal plan for our visit to Bristol next week so I need to shop and then do some meal prep to get ahead.
TA have a good time at the van.
Everyone else have a good day.10 -
Morning all from a dull mehefinland.
Finally finished the first wall on the painting of Mehefin towers. An awful lot left to do and the weather has not been kind! Should have started it earlier - I know! Does look quite smart though, even if I say so myself
Delivered a pile of community council newsletters yesterday - still got a load to do, but if the weather's iffy its a good use of my time . Not going to paint if its drizzling.
Treated myself to tickets for 10cc concert ( on my birthday next year!!) They went on sale at 10am and were nearly sold out by 11. Not quite the frenzy for more modern groups, but then much more sensible ticket prices too,
Other than that , life chunters on as per.
Hugs and spoons as always. Happy hols to those who can have them.. Get well soon poodles
Mehefin aka Derek
