Thank you for all your replies.  I paid for the postage but Royal Mail say they aren't at fault as they attempted delivery to the PO Box address which is no longer in use.  They have now returned to their National Returns Centre and will attempt to return the parcel - although four months have now passed, (three since I rang them), and I have heard nothing. My details are within the parcel. The company is Trapstar London, so UK based.  I have provided them with the tracking number as requested, however they now will not respond to my emails.

I appreciate it is a grey area, but I feel I have done nothing wrong and have neither the goods or my money.
RM dont open the parcels, senders address will be used if it was on the outside of the parcel

Why do you think they are UK based? Just because they have London in their name? I think on this occasion it is a legitimate company but there are a lot of far east companies with London in the name of their website etc so you may want to brush up on how to identify dodgy retailers trying to trick people into assuming they're not dealing with a far east company.

The National Returns Centre on Belfast, where undelivered mail goes, do open parcels to look for an address.

So did you send it to the address here?

Refunds & Returns Policy | Trapstar London – Trapstar London

(Looks a bit of a dodgy website to me...)

There are problems with their site but they are turning over £23m so not that dodgy

On the basis that isnt a PO Box we can safely assume not.

https://uk.trapstarlondon.com/pages/returns-policy-1 is a page thats indexed by google on their website, if you go there there is a different return form that does give a PO Box return address

But their T&Cs and returns policy don't comply with the requirements of CCRs do they?
