I've just purchased a new phone and transferred all my apps and data and do not have any duplicates as in your photo.

The transfer option was part of the setting up process of my Nothing Phone 3a Pro and the donor phone was a Realme 8 5G.

Did you use a third party utility?

If so, is there a clean up option?

Have you tried restarting the device?

i'm not really savvy. i added no apps other than what was in the new phone and the new phone appeared to setup with most of my existing apps from the old phone. i assume this worked simply by adding my google email. i don't do online backups as such.
i've certainly not added any apps that were for duplicating/facilitating a transfer.

Helpful if OP posted the make and model of phone. At a guess I'd say something like Dual Messenger, Secure Folder or a Work Profile is/was enabled which creates duplicates of apps in the secure enclave.

The 'card' symbol looks to me as you have a copy of the app saved on your phone (no symbol) and then another copy saved on either an SD card or your SIM card.
I've seen similar with telephone numbers that were saved on the SIM moved to a new phone, but then also copied over into the new phones own internal storage - so they all showed up twice in the phonebook.
Do you have a SD card in the phone? Maybe one moved from your previous phone that already had those apps saved to it?
I'd think that you can delete either copy. and use the other, or keep both, up to you.
I would check first if any of the apps have icons on your screen which copy that icon is linked to.

i thought it looked like a SD/sim card type issue. the only thing i physically moved to the new phone was the Sim card.
the only "apps" that are duplicated are "system files" none of my own apps are duplicated. i believe this is a side effect of the auto transfer feature, i have found instances searching the net but never found a solution.

Not sure if motorola phones have App cloning.....Double check by opening settings - Apps - see if the option is there, if it is turn it off.
If not just uninstall the duplicate apps. if they disappear altogether don't worry you can just download them again from the store.

I also notice that the ones with the card symbol are slightly smaller then the others.
(I don't know but maybe that's because they are older versions that haven't been updated because they are on the card and not in use?)
If you tap on each app in the list then the details should open and tell you more about it, including just where it is stored, eg:

If there is one copy in the phones internal storage, and another copy on the card, then personally I'd delete the one from the card because the phone will be using the one on the phone.

thanks both, doesn't have app cloning and these are system files with no delete option, just "force stop and disable."

both versions of each are "internal storage" and further down says "app installed from google play store".

just went to the store to see if i could manage/delete from there but no system files are listed there, just the main apps.

iv'e sort of got over my fixation to delete but will keep checking for answeres. maybe go back over answeres i saw on other tech forums that didn't actually work for me and try again.

I have a Moto G31with Android 12. The All Apps apps screen is broadly similar to your pic (but no duplicates) but I dont have the blue pulldown tab at the top. Just curious about what the other tab  options are - in case it helps understanding  the cause of the duplication.
