Morning Everyone
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
There's been some epic rain the last couple of days, certainly making up for the lack of it over the last few weeks.
Nothing much to report here, work seems all consuming at the moment with the impending HMI visit in a couple of weeks.
Must visit the library after work, I've run out of books! I had a backlog of donated books over the summer but they are all read and passed on now.
Bet you're getting excited now Ruby, not long to wait.
Have a happy Friday, take care. XX13 -
Morning again, it's sunny here. We had some showers yesterday, but could do with some proper rain.
Happy belated birthday wishes Rosy
We were out early yesterday, dh had an appointment for a review with the cancer support nurse. She was pleased with his progress, and arranged to see him in 3 months.
We had a 30 minute wait between buses on the way there, so went into a nearby charity shop - dh found a nice lightweight jacket, S**salt, for £25. Checked up when we came home, it would have cost over 4 times that amount brand new, what a bargain! It is in excellent condition as well.
Not much going on today, just the usual jobs, and I'll pop round to visit a friend tonight.
Hope those already on holiday are having a great time, and that those preparing to go enjoy their time away.
Thoughts to any sad or poorly people, take care folks.14 -
Good morning 😊
We got caught in a torrential downpour on a walk, on Wednesday. It lasted about thirty minutes, and the little shelter there was, didn’t provide much benefit. It’s still warm out, though, so my tee got quite wet while I located the poncho in the bottom of the hiking bag. It was still a good day.
I am planning on going into the town centre today, to have a bit of a mooch. I haven’t done that in a while, so hoping the rain stays off. We’ve had a few short showers already, this morning.
I’ve put a spicy tomato three bean stew with dumplings, into the slow cooker, which we will have with mash potatoes. I have some shredded chicken in the fridge, which the meat eaters can add to their portion.
Hope you all have a good day 😊12 -
Good morning - thanks for the start @Scarlet. That's good news for your DH and well done on such a great bargain too.@ Camelot no rain here until this morning, the epic downfall is due today and tomorrow. Belated birthday wishes to Rosy, it sounds a good day. I went to doctors yesterday about an ongoing, and much ignored, problem with my left foot. Now got an appointment next week for various tests, nothing sinister I'm sure, just an annoyance. This morning is the time for shopping. I had planned to go to a new farmers market tomorrow but now the terrible weather forecast is putting that in doubt. Already a fabulous classic car event has been cancelled, it's a shame as it would have been a great spectacle.Happy holidays to those who are heading off. I recall Germany and Greece? Keep well, hugs to all.12

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Yesterday was a day of intermittent showers, only one with any power behind it. Today (and the foreseeable!) sounds as if it will be similar. Once the rain starts here it doesn't know when to stop does it but I know we desperately need it.
I had a surprise visit from middle DGD yesterday. She should have been working at the tea room but started with bad conjunctivitis overnight so rang in sick and went down town to see what the pharmacy said. She now has a minute tube of ointment as they were out of drops. She ended up staying for lunch and then the whole of the afternoon so that put paid to my jobs. I don't see nearly enough of them these days so it was a pleasant afternoon.. She is shopping for school stuff with friends today as she starts at the new school on Tuesday. She is mortified that she will have to go out without her false eyelashes!!
I have a grocery delivery due any time so I may need to dash off. Only basic stuff, nothing to get excited about! I had a sort out of the tall freezer yesterday and can at last report stocks are going down and I can see daylight! Almost time to clear the small freezer out again and combine the contents.
DF and I had arranged to meet for lunch today but I await confirmation of that. Will it or won't it be off this time! Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Happy holiday to those galivanting! Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning all
Its been raining off and on all night and looks to be most of today as well it’s much needed.
Off to get my nails done this morning and then back for a quick lunch and then off out again for waxing, OH is also off today so he will walk the dogs later.
Not sure about dinner but there are several choices will go and have a look after this.
DD is also off today but is going to watch a child she looks after jump out of a plane ✈️ for charity, this young lad has had a really bad start in life, his father did a bunk and left him with his mum who was a traveller and then she also abandoned him and he went a bit feral for a while but he has turned his life around and has recently passed his exams and is doing this jump to raise money for a sports charity to help disadvantaged kids, he had raised about £1400 which is amazing 🤩
Gers yes Greek islands for me 😃 we get picked up at 2 Sunday morning 😳 but it will be worth it once we get there.
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Good morning all
A grey start here, yesterday brought a few showers, nothing much.
Not much happening today, just the usual chores. Lamb chops (a real treat), bought reduced, new potatoes and veg tonight.
Rosy, a belated happy birthday, you're 4 months older than me.
Ruby, enjoy your holiday, you've certainly earned it.
Have a good day all, take care.10 -

Thanks for starting Scarlet, pleased you have good newa about DH.Hope you get your foot problem sorted - my right ankle is giving me some gyp, I think it's the extra dog walking I've been doing. I've also put my orthotics back in my trainers- didn't need them for a good while but I've had the shoes for quite a long time now so the support probably isn't as good as it was!TA, sounds just like my DGD and her lashes
We're going shopping on Monday for a new school coat and bag.
Ruby, enjoy your hols.Good on the young lad for raising so much money, glad he's turned his life around.Raining on and off here, off out shortly with Lendog. DH has had a cup of tea, had the cold pack on his knee and is doing his exercises.I'm making green Thai chicken curry for tea, not had that for ages.Seems to be drying up a bit so I'll wish you all a good day:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Hi everyone,
There's not a lot to report here, the cleaner is here for her last day today, she's moving to Hull. I've decided to hold off on getting a new one for a while we'll see how it goes.
L and B and the children have gone to Camp Bestival for the weekend so I hope they're not getting too wet. Apparently Esther was buzzing around in her rainbow cape and when it fell off she said "I'm not SuperEsther any more". We do miss them a lot but we're going down to see them on Monday.
I need to make a list of shopping so that I can make some meals before I go. I also want to make a banana bread for Esben's packed lunches. Laura was telling me that she went to the library with the children and heard her name called, it was someone she worked with nearly 20 years ago who now lives around the corner. This is always happening to Laura, when she did a visit to Esben's new school there were two other women there, one of them Laura knew, being a good friend of one of Laura's best friends (and bridesmaid) and the other was moving from Leytonstone, not far from where L and B lived and was good friends with another of Laura's friends. She once went to meet her cousin in a pub miles away from where she lived, the cousin was astonished when they walked in and people from three different tables immediately called out "Laura". He said "Do you know everyone in London".
Anyway, enough of my waffle, have a good day, holiday, whatever.
