Advice Please re Fixed Rate Bonds

Thank you all so much for your responses.  You have confirmed my suspicions and it would appear that this is a scam.  The friend had been consulting with her high street bank's FA by phone, which was legitimate, but then this letter arrived by post, headed with the bank's name, detailing the fixed rate bonds.  I have only managed to be in touch with her by messaging so far, but will update when I have spoken with my friend and got the full story.

Has your friend also taken steps to establish whether there is any capital gains tax to be paid within 60 days of completion of the sale of her second property? This assumes she also owns the one she currently lives in.

Thank you @dingling68, yes there is a small amount of CGT and she has that in hand.  Appreciate the thought.
