Has anyone had issues which changing Direct Debit details with AMEX?

Hi All

Ive been trying to change my direct debit details with AMEX for well over a month and the process has been a nightmare.

Ive submitted the DD Mandate and shared my bank account letter to confirm its my account and it keeps getting rejected.

Just wondering if anyone else has faced this?

Yes, I am going through this right now.

I just opened an account with Biscuit (from Zopa) who pay cashback on direct debit payments, and so tried to move the DD to pay my Amex to this new account. It is indeed an absolute nightmare. I think the problem is that for me it is a new current account, and so presumably Amex use some kind of electronic verification system that is failing.

I am about to make a complaint to Amex.

I have done so several times in the past, but this time it is not working. I think the problem is that I want payment to be taken from an account that I have only just opened.

'Only just' - hours, days? Might not be able to validate depending how soon we are talking.

I tried the app and then was told to submit the forms I mentioned above
