Healthcare plans - dental, eye care, etc

Hi,

I am wanting advice on the best healthcare plans to claim back mainly for dental and optical, possibly prescriptions. I have glasses already and am due an eye test which I think will lead to a new prescription and glasses. I have also been told by my dentist that I am going to need a filling, which I would prefer to be white (nhs not private) but will cost extra.
I have looked into simply health plans and have also looked on the MSE website and the suggestions on there however I can’t find anything regarding terms. For example, it mentions that if you max out the claim allowance you can cancel and begin another but I don’t understand how this could work and which companies allow this. Simply health does it as a contract where you can claim instantly but you are locked in for 2 years paying £x per month.

Any advice appreciated, many thanks!

You need to check what you can claim back

e.h. Simply Health   For £20 per month.on an 12 month contract your dental or optical costs are limited to £100 each.

Claim back up to £880 a year (per person) towards these benefits:

    • £100 for dental
    • £100 for optical
    • £150 for physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic and acupuncture
    • £100 for podiatry and reflexology
    • £30 for NHS or private prescriptions
    • £400 for hospital stays (£20 per day, up to 20 days)

    Total monthly payment

    12 month contract

    £20

Higher premiums give higher claim limits.

Yeah I understand the Simply Health one, just wondering about the other options mentioned by MSE in the article ‘Healthcare Cash Plans’. Apologies won’t allow me to link.

In terms of when can I cancel, or am I tied in as with Simply Health. See Point 5 under the Healthcare Need to Knows within that article.
