If you responded to the LoC,  wait for a Money Claim N1SDT pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL to arrive in the post
thanks for the reply, is this even possible to defend now? Or should I just pay the fine, it is now £180
Sorry? I don't understand the question.

You don't have a fine and we see all of these won. It's also not £180.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They're using the threat of the legal process to bully and harass you into paying and they're (literally) banking on it that you're going to be worried enough to pay up. If you're happy to be extorted, then go ahead and pay.

However, if you're not happy about being subjected to a legal shakedown and you're willing to go through the process, for which there is extensive guidance on this forum, it's risk free in the sense that you're not going to get a CCJ.

All it's going to cost you is your time and at the worst, if you lose the case you'll have to cough up for the amount of the PCN + court fees. You will not get a CCJ if you follow the process properly. Just browse this forum and see how many cases are won. It's the vast majority.

So take a deep breath and read the NEWBIES thread on how to respond to their Letter of Claim and what happens afterwards. Then read it again.

One of the things that I learned going through this whole process and reading many posts on this forum, is that many of these claims are on shaky legal grounds and there are lots of things that can and do trip up these bulk parking litigators. They're bottom feeders and the people working for them are not particularly bright.
