Searching for APS ISA's

I lost my husband unexpectedly in January and I am trying to move his cash ISA's into APS.
I have already done his probate.

My issue is I can't easily find which banks / building society's do APS. Does anyone know an easy way to find this out? I can't keep them with the current ISA providers.

Many thanks

There is no 'master list' as such.

Which magazine have  compiled their own  list which maybe helpful below , but note no high street banks included -

  • My sincere condolences. There was a recent discussion here, with an interesting idea from h_belloc to use NS&I as an intermediary home for the APS:

There are "big names" that offer APS ISAs - a quick search finds Barclays, NatWest & Santander for example. However, the rates are all poor on their APS accounts. However, there is nothing to stop you transferring out into another better paying cash ISAs elsewhere.

Sorry for your loss. I lost my wife in February, and was able to open an APS ISA with my bank, Barclays, and transfer my wife's APS allowance, and ISA balance, from her Natwest ISA. I then moved it to a fixed rate ISA with a better rate.

I did the same with Lloyds. ie the bank where my late husband had his ISA. Opened ISA with Lloyds under APS regulations, then once sorted, transfered it out to another institution with a better rate. The APS bit is then no longer needed or relevant.
NB, As I did not inherit his entire estate,  which was split three ways, I noted the amount of the transfer in the accounts, to be included in my share of the distribution.

Sorry for your loss, I've made a list of those that do and those that don't but only for the banks I have money in.

Initially I just Googled: Does Close Bros accept APS and got the answer.  Hope that helps.

  • I used Skipton for the APS transfer and then moved elsewhere for a better rate.
