Have you read a dozen similar Apcoa at Manchester Airport threads yet  ? Look at anything in the last 4 months
Do you think the same thing will have happened to someone else, being charged tree times instead of twice?

When I made the phone call before setting off to the airport I thought I was speaking to the Airport Customer Services it is only today I realised that number is for Apcoa, It was an Apcoa person who gave me what turned out to be wrong information.

Is anyone on here familiar enough with Manchester to know if I dropped them off at the right place 53.362361, -2.271605
A reasonable person would expect the drop off and pickup to be close to each other.
If I dropped them off at the right place the pickup is half a mile away by road and on an entirely different route.
I only ask as I noticed when I drove into the second floor level for pickup at 53.362686 -2.271943 there was a drop off sign nearby. I wondered if it was related to disabled access on the ground floor and able bodied on the second.

Just get your MP to weigh in. Almost always works and they can also complain to the BPA who have a contact email.

Presumably, they won't answer within the next 14 days, when the charge increases from £60 to £100.
Doesn't matter. I've no idea why you are looking at that! It'll artificially go up again to £170. The MSE Guide tells you all this.

    You won't be paying.

  • Thank you for your help.

Today I rang Apcoa Customer Services to ask which house the demands for payment would arrive at, considering the parking charge went to my son’s but the form had been filled in with my name as the driver.

I was told my son needed to email them passing the responsibility onto me.

In a friendly manner, I explained as I had already paid for both drop off and pickup I wouldn’t be paying the parking charge, but instead contacting my MP, and complaining to both Apcoa and Manchester Airport.

I suggested no-one had read my appeal as any right thinking person wouldn’t have rejected it.

I asked if she would kindly spend a few minutes reading my appeal on her system, which she did and afterwards cancelled the charge. We will hear no more about it.

My appeal letter is elsewhere on the forum. On reflection it may have been too long.

Thank you again for all your help, you do a marvellous job.

We have a £5 drop off receipt, a £6.40 pickup receipt, and a parking fine for £100.

On pickup I drove to T1 Dep B and took the left hand lane marked CAR PARK believing it was the right thing to do.

An helpful HiVis airport worker kindly escorted me the complex half mile route to the proper second floor entrance where I picked up my family and went home

It never occurred to us I had triggered a third fee for passing through the what is effectively the drop off zone.

I appealed and they have said my appeal is unsuccessful.

Your case was a bit unusual. Well done!

I also posted this on the other thread you posted on:

    FIGHTBACK ALERT:

    THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED

Please do the government's Public Consultation. We need every poster to complete this vital survey before the deadline.

    See this thread:

We understand that you may need some pointers. It looks laborious, we get that. It doesn't matter; no knowledge is needed except re your own experiences so you can call out a scam industry and you'll protect millions of motorists and help change the law.

I've written some guidance to help focus new posters on the issues. I've covered almost every question, providing ideas if you agree with our stance on things like DRFs, which we say must be banned.

Ordinary people like you are falling victim to this scam 15 million times per annum. Motorists need your voice added please.

    CLOSES ON FRIDAY 26th SEPTEMBER.
