EPC PLC administration fee after driving on Hungarian highway

Hey guys,

I’ve received an EPC PLC administration fee after driving on the Hungarian highway. I actually bought a highway pass, but I mistakenly entered my license plate number with two characters missing. Now I’ve received separate tickets from EPC PLC to pay.

For context: I have a Swiss number plate, and somehow EPC PLC not only knows my name and address, but also another phone number of mine, which I find very concerning.

I already wrote them an email explaining that I had purchased the highway pass and only made a mistake with the license plate number, and asked them to close my case. Their reply was simply that they are sorry but they deny my request.

Honestly, this whole situation feels like a bad joke. I came here to see if anyone has experience with this, because I’ve already read some threads and I really think this is unfair. I do not plan to pay these charges.

Now, to make things worse, I just received a call from Luxembourg, supposedly from a law firm, but I didn’t answer.

What would you guys recommend I do in this situation?

    Quite right.

There is no reciprocal agreement with other countries. Nothing will happen. They are pursuing you for a typo and they can't and won't sue in the UK Courts because the incident didn't happen here.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
