Pending Payment -Octopus

I pay by regular Direct Debit. Since I got my new Smart Meter I’ve been paying far more attention to the app. 

On Monday last week I paid £200 by DD to Octopus. It went from my bank on Monday. But here we are on Wednesday, more than a week later and it is still showing as ‘pending’ in my Octopus account. I appreciate in England it was a Bank Holiday weekend, but this still seems overly long. Other DDs to other companies show as payment the same or the next day.

I do understand this makes not one jot of difference to my account but I am curious as to any possible reason and whether this is entirely normal Octopus practice?

Was normal from what I remember to take a few days to stop showing as pending, I wouldnt worry about it.

I suspect it's just that most other companies don't tell you when a payment is not yet quite applied to your account - Octopus are perhaps being more transparent, if anything. My payments to Octopus mostly seem to hang about as "pending" for around a week too - I can't say it's ever been an issue though.

It is normal for Octopus, although I was surprised to see my last VDD payment cleared energy account much quicker than normal.
