Morning all, thanks for the start @GersWashing hung out while the sun is still shining, although according to the weather forecast it should be getting quite blustery later so it should dry well!Nothing going on here today except some housework and a rummage in the freezer for something for tea. If my memory serves me I've got some smoked haddock in there somewhere so fancy that today.Have a good day all xx

Morning Gers and all to follow.
Looks to be a dry morning but rain due later this afternoon and for the rest of the week we desperately need it so I won’t complain.
Im off to meet Matt and his dad today at the day centre, he was a bit out of sorts last Wednesday as it’s usually his mum that brings him so hopefully he will be a bit better today and last a bit longer.
I have to pop into the shop on the way back we just need a few things to get us through till the weekend so I will do that on my way home, I just have today and tomorrow to work and then I am done 😃
Dinner tonight will be pork belly strips with some kind of sauce and rice and peas. No washing to do today and house is fairly up together.
Happy Birthday to Rosy (if it is today?) Have a great day xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @Gers
Rain was forecast yesterday, the sky turned really dark mid afternoon but not a drop of rain. The ground is so dry and the water butts are empty.
Need to sort the freezer, can't find anything.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12 -
After I woke at 5.00a.m. I nodded off again until just after 7.00a.m. Now I'm still a bit groggy. My hearing aid technician appointment lasted a little more than five minutes, took longer to drive there and back. A very pleasant woman this time, so the health authority now have two, took off the wee tube, put a new one on, checked my ears (clear) and gave me new batteries - gone!I'm resisting doing any shopping as I enough fresh stuff for today. I'm meeting an acquaintance in late morning for a coffee and chat, though I have some things to say that won't be too chatty. I'm mild and non-confrontational until pushed, she's pushed so I'll be getting it off my chest.I've woken with a midge bit on my knee (an overnight attacker?) so have rubbed it with the after bit stuff my friend gave me on Tuesday, it should take the pain and itch out of it .Now for coffee, I hope that everyone is doing well. @Ruby - fingers crossed that Matt is amiable with you. Hugs to all.9

Thanks for the start Gers, hope the ‘chat’ goes well.Taking DM for a hospital appt this morning and results of her latest scan - I always fear the worst so hope that I’m wrong (I usually am!). Haven’t got the head space to plan the rest of the day other than doing food shopping.Take care all and have a good day

Morning folks and thanks GERS. I hope your clearing the air meeting doesn't end up in fisticuffs! Happy Birthday to Rosy. Have a lovely day.
It's a lovely start but the forecaster of doom says we can expect showers (maybe thundery) by mid day. I know I shouldn't moan about it as it's desperately needed. It's bad timing though as it's bus ride day (aka Skipton) but hopefully we will be ensconced in the pub for our lunch by the time it starts. Nevertheless brolly will go with me. I can't remember the last time it was needed.
Yesterday ended up a day of sloth. I don't know what came over me but I felt I didn't have an ounce of energy for anything. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Happy holiday for those tripping off. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Hello all, we have rain ! It's damp, dreary and overcast here so I think the seasons are on the change. Never mind the gardens and reservoirs desperately need it and I'm not going out anywhere today, maybe the sun will come out later.
I've been busy for the last 2 days so a quieter day is on the cards with some housework and sorting/gathering of the holiday stuff. Going on hols in September means that you have to be prepared for all sorts of weather so my bikini and fur coat will be packed 🤣
AA I hope the results aren't as bad as you fear.
Rosy Happy Birthday. Have a great day.
Gers hope things go ok for your coffee chat and there's no fisticuffs !
Take care all

Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers. We had a bit of rain yesterday - a few spits and spots that lasted all of two minutes - no thunder. At the moment it's sunny but showers are forecast for the afternoon, some of them heavy, then back to sunshine for late evening, highs of 21 deg. We'll see - of late the forecasts for rain haven't been that accurate!
The second coat of paint is now on the radiator - the paint brushes are officially retired until next year. After that I sent a small grocery order for delivery tomorrow; if it hadn't been for the addition of a large pack of toilet rolls (needed) I wouldn't have been able to get a cheap delivery slot. I think that says something about food stocks.
I did, however, use up the last two carrots for a carrot cake and have even added the cream cheese frosting that I don't normally do - only on half of it though because half has been frozen sans frosting that apparently doesn't freeze well. The snail mail diabetic eye screening results arrived yesterday, all good with no signs of diabetic retinopathy.
Just a normal day today but I want to take a look at summer clothes, especially tops. I've been doing the coat hangers round the wrong way thing when I've worn something so will be able to tell what hasn't been used and can then decide whether to keep or donate. I also want to catch up on last night's Sewing Bee - no spoilers please! I'm sure the challenges are harder than in previous years. Tea tonight is a piece of lemon & herb dusted fish with peas and the last few spicy wedges.
@Ruby - I hope all goes well today with Matt (and dad).
@Gers - Glad your hearing aid is sorted. Good luck with today's coffee meeting - I hate that kind of "chat".
@AA - Fingers crossed your DM's results aren't as bad as you fear.
@Rosy - Happy Birthday, have a great day.
@Coxy - Sounds like you're having a fab time in the US. Expensive? Yes. Worth every penny? Yes!!!
@NRA - Not only will the granny square blanket keep you occupied during the winter months, it will have the bonus of keeping your legs warm as it gets longer!
Right, coffee is finished so I'll stop waffling. Take care all, hugs where wanted or needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
Morning everyone just got in from a cleaning job I’m shattered today little dog woke me up at 4 to go out it took me ages to get to sleep and I was deep asleep when she woke me then the dog we are looking after was running around bringing her toys outside by the time I got them in and settled again I was wide awake fell back to sleep at 6 and then woke up like a zombie I was pleased to get out for some fresh air to wake me up a bit . Rosy happy birthday have a good one Coxy it sounds like you are having a fab time make the most of it AA fingers crossed for your DMs results . Gers I think it has been the week for it I have a girl who’s kids are the same age as mine and I know it sounds awful but I’ve been trying to to get rid of her for years she suck’s the fun out of everything constantly criticising everything and everybody you leave her under a black cloud every time you talk to her and it doesn’t matter what you say it doesn’t sink in she thinks my phone is broken as I have her blocked but she catches me and last Friday when I was working in the charity shop she came in ranting about all the flags that have been put up I said I’m busy and can’t talk now I had to walk away in the end as she started on about these people who get everything for nothing and draining the country coming from someone who has never worked a day in her life and claims every benefit going and has a son that is constantly in trouble with the police mostly through drink and drugs so I’ve told you once I’m at work and people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones it didn’t sink in she started about how they could be getting more help if it wasn’t for other people who weren’t entitled to it getting it in the end the manager came to my rescue and told her the staff were not allowed to talk to friends while they were at work my hubby goes mad he says she’s poison and I’m far to soft but I know she has a horrible life with her husband and I would feel terrible if anything happened to her and she had no one . Anyway rant over . It’s sunny at the minute I’m going to have a sit outside with my cuppa and I don’t think I will be doing much more than pottering today . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing6
