Hi,

Looking for some advice, but think I may have found the problem- have received a bill today with an estimated gas usage of 62,000 kwh for the year (not sure where they got that figure).

DD increased from £130pm to £420pm i hadn't submitted readings for a few months but surely this is wildly inaccurate.

Ok I have now read it, to help us how much energy do you use a year , what tariff are you on.
If you are in debit now then you are not paying enough beforehand.
It will always help to say what you use for heating, etc .
If you post bills etc don’t forget you redact your personal details

I don't think anyone can comment on accuracy unless you give some figures. How much gas did you use in the last 12 months?  How long ago was the last actual meter reading?

From what I can see (taking approx 12 months I to account)

    Elec

    Aug 25 (today) 15597

    Gas
    July 24 4362

As readings are manual it's been sometime since I submitted them

So, in about 13 months you've used about 4100kWh of electricity.
Dpes your gas meter only have four digits, or is there a leading zero on those readings?
Four digit gas meters are imperial, measuring in hundreds of cubic feet (hcf). Assuming imperial, you've used 735 hcf which is about 23500 kWh.
If it's metric, measuring cubic metres, it's only 8300 kWh.
Either way, it's a lot less than 62,000.
If you've not submitted a reading recently I suggest you do so ASAP.

Here are photos of the readings I took this evening.

So they changed the DD amount on a random estimate that ill be using double/triple the amount of gas this year? Probably due to lack of meter readings

Has the smart meter ever connected to your suppliers over the WAN since fitted ?
Does your IHD if have one show both gas and electric ?
How much effort has your supplier put into getting it to work if not ?
Have they tried an external to meter cabinet aerial - like the T1 / T2 models referred to here - perhaps in tandem with a sku3 comms hub to work on mesh as well as direct ?
