Recommended debit card for spending budget

Reading Pete matthew meaningful money handbook and he recommends a second current account solely for spending.  Ie every pay day you transfer your spending budget to this account so you have to be more careful what you buy.
Your main account is the bills account where you set up direct debits.
So quick question is does anyone recommend any specific banks to use for the spending account?

There's nothing particularly special about a secondary current account, so it's still a free choice from the full market according to your preferences.

You can keep it simple (with a bit of upfront effort) and set all your bills and savings accounts to be paid just after pay day. But you can also open lots of current accounts to get access to lots of regular saver accounts with higher interest.

I think there are some banks (Monzo?) that allow you to have named pots, so that might assist with budgeting. You could put your grocery fund into one (or 4-5 pots - one person shop that month), eating out budget into another pot etc

Whilst not as good as it used to be, I still like the Chase account for some day to day spending. I specifically use it for transport and groceries to get the cashback.

I also like the Monzo pots but there is a monthly fee for paying directly out the pots using virtual cards (direct debits are free if I'm not mistaken). Starling has free virtual cards though.

Monzo is great for this. You can put your money into different pots and then have direct debits come directly out of the pos. When I get paid i sort my money into a bills pot and a pot for eaxh weeo of the month. The bill direct debits come straight out of the bills pots and i empty one of the weekly pots into the main balance each weeks. It's much easier then having multiple bank accounts, Starling so something similar with their Spaces
