Where can I claim NI credits?
Hi,
I understand that I may be able to claim NI credits due to a period of unemployment during which I was actively looking for work. I asked at my local Jobcentre and was given a flier with a phone number. I called the number, but unfortunately the person I spoke to was unable to help and did not seem familiar with my query.
Could someone please point me to the correct department or contact?

We have never had anyone report they have successfully claimed. How do you prove that some time ago you were eligible for JSA but did not claim and were complying with the requirement to actively seek work ?In theory you start by speaking to your local job centre but as you have found that sends you down a rabbit hole that ends nowhere.
Never associate with idiots on their own level, because, being an intelligent man, you'll try to deal with them on their level - and on their level they'll beat you every time.
Being hated by idiots is the price you pay for not being one of them.
