Impossible to be certain that all deceased accounts have been traced?

Hi

My friend passed away in 2020 and I was one of two executors, as the other one was in another part of the UK,  and I was also the main beneficiary, I was happy to deal with the estate. My friend had multiple bank accounts and also dabbled in Peer-2-Peer lending,  but eventually the estate was settled and all beneficiaries paid out.      

About eighteen months later I was notified by a bank account that I was not aware of, but sorted that out, paid the extra IHT due and distributed the money to beneficiaries.  This week, almost five and a half years on I have been advised of a second new account that we were not aware of.

Sorry for the long-winded post, but I guess I am asking if there is any definitive search available that can trace unknown accounts for a deceased individual?   I have looked online and found My Lost Account and Gretel, but both are asking for specific names of bank(s) to search, which is of no use to me.

Any advice would be appreciated.  Many thanks.

My Lost Account is free - so just search all the bank names you can think of. It mi

Why not use them to search all the bank names you can think of - My Lost Account is free.
