This appears to be essentially the same question as in OP's previous threads about this:

You can do whatever you want but as tax credits finished in April, the more pertinent question is are you claiming UC now and if so have you declared you own a property that you don't live in?

Firstly I would say not a wise move to let your property to family rent free on two counts. If you wanted your house back or start charging rent then there could be problems family wise. Also if you bought on a BTL mortgage it is against the banks policy to let to family.Dachshund23 said:Can I let my second property rent free to my adult son rent free as did not tell child and working tax about my second property purchase when I bought it 5 years ago
With regard to not telling CTC and WTC about the purchase it wasn't necessary as this has nothing to do with claiming those benefits. They were not affected by capital . However if you were claiming Housing Benefit for eg then it is a different matter.0 -
Thank you so much for your advise it’s just so confusing when I have read so much and it’s saying different things.0
