Amazon delaying laptop repair

I bought a laptop from Amazon at the start of May and noticed at the start of August it had developed cracks in the bottom chassis from over-torquing of the screws (factory defect), as well as having a power button that worked 70% of the time.

I sent it for repair with Amazons repair service on the 9th and was told it would take a maximum of 14 days to get there, be repaired and returned. 17 days later and I’ve not even had confirmation the repair service has received it. I’ve now been in contact with them several times over the past 72 hours and each time get told they’ve escalated it and they will be in contact within 24 hours. I’m now at a point where I desperately need the laptop as I move in 5 days to go start my PhD. Do I have any rights in asking them to either refund or replace?
