Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
It's been raining overnight and looks like it could be showery all day although it's still very warm.
I called at the allotment on the way home yesterday and picked 7 courgettes and lots of beans that seem to have recovered from the storm and one of the pea plants has decided get going, just as I was going to pull them all up! The neighbours have been given some of the courgettes, tomatoes and onions but I've kept the beans and peas! The plum tree there is absolutely laden so I took a tub of those and will share them out in work today.
Also stopped at the tip to hand in some biscuits as they were kind enough to let me have the bike. Some shopping had to be done for work, thought I would never get home!
Hoping everyone is well and had a good bank holiday if you had one. Take care. XX13 -
Good morning Gers, thanks for starting.
We have rain! Much needed but is only forecast to last for the next hour. We'll see. Yesterday was another hot one, 28deg.
Only the usual chores to do today. Chicken wrapped in bacon for dinner tonight with maybe chips and salad. Last night was steak pie for OH and cottage pie for me, both from the freezer.
Have a good day all whatever you're doing.
Hugs to anyone who needs one, take care.

Morning all
Thanks for the start Gers.
It’s damp here though supposed to be warm later then rain from tomorrow.Yesterday I finished ripping out some dead stuff from a garden area behind a high wall- no way of digging out roots that’ll have to wait til the ground softens. The Caribbean jerk chicken was very tasty - next month’s meal country is Finland….not sure about that 🤔
Hoping to fit some wind deflectors to the van windows today and do some photos of things for my craft shop.Have a good day all

Morning again - table light on as it's still gloomy, overnight rain clouds still lingering. My exercise class yesterday was challenging, mind you it's only because I challenge myself! Today I only have an afternoon appointment with the hearing aid technician, they check aids every six months, so I'll collect some more batteries.Lovely to give biscuits @Camelot, the chaps there will appreciate your appreciation. I hope that all are well. Hugs sprinkled around everyone.14

Morning allLooks to be another warmish day today.Off to a large shop today to have a mooch and get some new oven trays as one came out of the dishwashasher with all the non stick covering peeling off. Been in the dishwasher loads of times but first time that's happenedMust have a rummage in freezer to get something out for dinner tonight and then see how many runner beans I can pick. For some reason this year lots of the flowers seem to die before turning into runner beans so picking has been few and far between. Shame, my favourite vegetable too.Hope everyone has a good day x13

Morning, I've just lost a longish post, maddening.
It wasn't deathless prose, I was just commenting on the amount of courgettes that Camelot's allotment seems to have produced, and pondering on the difficulties of painting roughcast. I wondered if the professionals sprayed it.
Not much going on here, we had been thinking of going out today, but it's rained, though now is a bit brighter.
I went to see my old friend up the road yesterday as I usually do on Monday afternoons. We had a good chat about our families and the wisdom of not saying too much in certain situations - we had another friend, now deceased, who believed in 'speaking her mind' which caused many a family bust up and resulted in people not on speaking terms for sometimes years. Best not to go down that road if you can possibly avoid it.
However, I'll stop rabbiting about nowt in particular, but will wish everyone a good day, whatever you're doing. Take care folks.14 -
Morning all
Looks to be another nice day I think we have some rain due from tomorrow for the rest of the week. I have two people coming today and they have requested bowling and a McDonald’s so who am I to argue 😬 we are meeting out friends which will be nice as they have been on holiday for a couple of weeks.
Im not sure about dinner tonight but will go and have a look after this there is plenty in, but I do need to check if we need a shop this week or if we can manage till we go away, I do need milk though so will get that later.
Just three more days at work for me and then 16 off, I must admit I need a break from looking after people, they are all great but can be needy!
Mehefin I can’t remember the colours on your waistcoat but picking out a colour for the bow tie sounds like a plan.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all. It's just started to rain a little here but doubt it will last.
Yesterday was baking hot. The Farm Museum was very busy and the area where the men danced was a real sun trap. We did the tractor and trailer ride and, because the hay had already been cut, we could go all the way up to the windmill, where we got off for 5 minutes and took some photos. Most years we can't get that close because of the crops still growing in the fields. It's a lovely day and the volunteers are always very good with the grandchildren, one of them letting our almost 2 yr old have a go on the hand pump to get water out. I had to help as the handle came up above his head.
Today I need to chase John Lewis about our new curtains so will look out the paperwork for that. Off to visit a friend after lunch and then have defrosted some salmon for tonight.
Look after yourselves.12 -
Good morning 😊
We’ve also had rain overnight, but it’s clearing up and is meant to be a nice day.
I am going to the Local Pantry this morning, then staying on for the social. There will be a bit of a pick up and put away before I go, but nothing strenuous.
Dinner tonight is either salt and pepper chicken, or vegan chicken steaks. I’ve left the chicken marinating in the fridge since last night, and will cook it later, served with Singapore noodles.
My neighbour has gifted me a bag of tomatoes, so I’m going to pick those up before I go to the pantry, and take her one of the apple crumbles I made yesterday. Then, I will need to think what to do with the tomatoes, as there are plenty of them, apparently.
Hope you all have a good day 😊13
