@Sarahwithlove - I really don't want to. I love my job and also have a Civil Service Pension so would rather stay and hold on to that! I'm gonna just ride out the storm and see what happens.Debt Free - 4th June 20250

Well done on being debt free, delighted for you! Looking forward to read about your journey! I am still living on my CC for now while getting final savings for renovation and then from October full focus on CC debt (few £k so not too dramatic) and mortgage overpayments. Will be cheering for you and getting my needed inspiration, 2030 sounds very exciting, good luck!

Bathroom was flooded this week. I called the council as the house above me is a council flat. Neighbour didn't hear anything from them so he called the emergency repairs people out, they came and had a look last night and the waste pipe was loose so that's all sorted. He very kindly offered to come down, plaster and redecorate my bathroom. It was identified and fixed in less than 24hrs so a wee wash of the walls will do it. Really appreciate that though, good to have a nice neighbour.Tidied up my living room and bedroom yesterday in between work and walking dogs so those 2 rooms look lovely. Today I am going to tackle the kitchen and I need to get into the habit of giving the whole place a wee once over every day. Here's to making new habits and having them stick!Had a look over the bank accounts today and I am happy to report that my savings are now £2,500! I'm just getting myself better prepared incase I need to give up on the dog walks during the week.New boss hasn't given a very good first impression so not holding out much hope on her tbh.Debt Free - 4th June 20250

Been a while since I last posted - need to do better at that.
I was sure when I logged into my mortgage account a while ago it said I could re-mortgage in October but when I logged in it shows March 2026.
Was looking forward to locking in another 5 year deal with the aim to overpay to get rid of it by the end of that term.
I mean I know March isn't too long to wait but still - I AM IMPATIENT!
I've been overpaying by £8.00 a month (huge I know) for a few months and have been upping my savings for a while due to job uncertainty so once I know what's happening with the job I should have a wee chunk to pay or I might use that to get my bathroom re-done. I hate my bathroom, don't have a bath and really miss one.Debt Free - 4th June 20252 -
My MFD is 2037 too, I'm aiming for sooner but don't have a realistic definite aim at this stage. We need to sort lots with the house yet.
I'm also going through some job insecurity stuff - reorganisation so my team is no longer there and I'll have to join another one. Should all be sorted prior to Christmas, but who knows. It's all very stressful, but I have the benefit of knowing my hours won't change and I'm not being downgraded so that's something.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Hopefully will all work out for us both.Debt Free - 4th June 20250 -
You can probably fix a new deal in October if you mortgage deal ends in March._Dolly_Rocker_ said:Been a while since I last posted - need to do better at that.
