MF Date 2037 - MOP it up by 2030?!?

Hello my fellow MFWers.
I've decided to start a new thread now that I am debt free (4th June 2025) - yippeeeeee!
I took out my mortgage in 2021 for 16 years and I'd absolutely love to get it paid by 2030 but we've recently been told that our tiny team in work is being transferred to another department and our job is very likely to change which means that I will have to give up my 2nd job (dog walking).
I'm going to be absolutely gutted if this is the case because without that 2nd income I will barely be able to pay the bills at all never mind have any hope to pay off my mortgage early but we'll just need to wait and see what happens.
At the moment I'm keeping it all ticking over, working 7 days a week and instead of making any OP I'm saving due to the job insecurity.
If I'm able to just keep things as they are then I can start the MOP with the aim to get this PIF by 2030!

£8.00 - May
£8.00 - June
£8.00 - July
£8.00 - August
So I know it's not much but someone on the DFW board told me to round up my DD so did this before the start of the tax year.
I think for the remainder of the year this will be the only OP I will make, just would rather save the money until I know my current income is secure then I can start with the higher monthly OPs.
I've got a bank account that I don't use so right now I have £2,468.00 saved, I'll continue to top that up as much as I can.

Thanks @beanielou
So dog walker came for Bailey and Luna and reminded me she's off tomorrow so I'm up £30.00 which I am going to add to my savings.
I'm so tempted to just make an OP but honestly the thought of not having a secure job and my 2nd income being at risk is turning me into a little money squirrel!
It's good habits though, previously I would have just spent that money on a takeaway.
I really need to get better with the eating anyway so that's a good thing. You want to know something terrible that happened last week? My fat pants got too tight and I had to go up a size. I could have cried, so from next week I will be weighing daily, meal planning and just generally being healthier.
I've got so much weight to lose it seems like an unachievable task right now but I'm going to split it into smaller goals and just keep at it. Would love to be at goal weight by my next birthday in March.
A few years of depression and anxiety due to being in a very toxic and abusive relationship and then just really picking up bad habits afterwards and using food as an emotional crutch has done me no favours.
It's time to start being a better version of myself for MYSELF.Debt Free - 4th June 20252 -

Just come across your diary. Firstly, huge congratulations on being debt free, that's amazing! It sounds like things are uncertain right now with work and also that you've got into a really good mindset with saving what you can towards OPs, even £8 a month makes a difference in the long term, and with not spending on takeaways like you might have done in the past. What a difference, eh? When things feel difficult, like with work feeling uncertain, take a moment to look at just how far you've come - it's amazing what the new you is already doing and achieveing. Keep going, you will get there.Debt = £8017/£8017 (100% paid - cleared 26th August 2020) Boiler Fund = £2500/£2500 (100% saved - 26th August 2021)Emergency fund = £5000/£5000 (100% saved - 5th Jan 2025) | Mortgage = £112,153/£132,469 (15% paid)Goal for 2025:1) MFW £4433/£30001

@skint_spice - Thank you. I'm determined to get back to a healthy weight. I've got a lot of clothes in the wardrobe that I can no longer fit into so will get there cos I am determined not to have to buy more when I have all that sitting there.@seventh88 - Thank you. You know I was thinking this morning that I've done so well to get the debt paid off and IF I have to lose my 2nd income then I am in a much better position financially to cope. We found out that things may stay as they are for the rest of the year while they figure out recruitment so each month I am going to keep spending to an absolute minimum and add as much as I can to the savings to prepare for the worst.Debt Free - 4th June 20251

Busy day today.
Just spent my last £20.00 on food for B&L, that will last them 3 days.
I'm going to attempt a trip to Costco over the weekend to get their food in for the month. That will save me about £30.00 which isn't a massive amount but it all adds up.
Payday tomorrow so will sort the September finances out and see what I've got to work with.Debt Free - 4th June 20250 -
So some good news!
Getting a refund of £123.00 for student loan deductions, I don't earn over the threshold so they are sending me this in the next 3-5 working days.
Plan for this money is to add it to my lodge savings account. I usually go twice a year and have a week booked in November 2025 and March 2026, these are both paid in full so I've started saving for the next one.
I've got £310.00 saved so far so will add the refund to that.Debt Free - 4th June 20250 -
