Contract rights

I've just started online work but I've had to put forward £150 and now they are asking for a further £300 which I cannot physically afford - they will not release back to me the original funds until I pay this additional money.
I cannot see anywhere in the terms and conditions this is the process.
Where do I stand ?

Sounds like you've been scammed to me. Stop sending money whilst you are only £150 down.

How were you contacted about the job? How did you pay?

So you are paying to do work for them? How does that work?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

You get paid commission on the work you do but there was a "technical" error when I tried to withdraw the money, which made me also think scam - I've contacted the customer services but all they say is that I need to complete further tasks before I get my money back

I was 99% sure it was a scam, that now sits at 100% sure.

I'll ask again, how did you hear about this job?

Paying money for work, and being asked to pay in crypto? Absolutely a scam.
