Moving on from Nest 3 for more savings on central heating
I made good savings last winter from installing a Nest 3 on my combi boiler, while also range rating the 30kW capacity down to 15kW for heating and setting the max flow temp to 60°C.
However it was still switching the boiler on/off without any interaction between the boiler and the controller. So for this winter I've stepped up to using the Worcester Bosch CT200 controller with outside thermometer so the system can optimise running the boiler based on how cold it is outside (weather compensation) and continuously tune to boiler to run most efficiently. Looking for a reduction in gas costs of around 20% over a noddy thermostat in the hall and maybe 10% over using the Nest 3.
