Hi everyone,
We saw Chris, Crystal and Nate yesterday, we met them at a pop up beach and funfair near Ely which was great fun for Nate. Then we went back and picked up their cat and brought her home for the week. I hope it doesn't get too hot because we're not able to open the french doors while she's here. She's 18 now though so not as spry as she once was.
We're both still quite tired from last week's exertions so we'll probably have a quiet day today. Laura said they had a lovely afternoon following some of the Wallace and Grommet trail. Esther wanted to hug Feathers McGraw despite the signs asking people not to climb on him.
Healing wishes for TAs dgd and Scarlet's dh (hope I've got that right, I tend to mix up the reds).
Have a good day.8 -

Hello all from sunny Mehefinland
I took heed of the foot of correction to seat of learning and started the painting job yesterday morning. Whoever invented rough cast - I hate you!!! What I had thought would be a simple job is turning into a nightmare as the blooming stuff is an absolute s o d to paint. I've gone through a gallon and done approximately half of the first wall (bearing in mind its a bungalow and its one of the lower walls!!) Taken me two whole mornings to get this far, and when the sun comes around it is abandon ship time, as it is just TOO hot in the driveway. Serves me right for frittering away the summer weather lol. It will get done - but slowly!
Views please on a matching bowtie for the waistcoat? I was thinking a sold colour picking out one from the pattern but can't decide what to look for. There is no chance of matching the fabric as it has been utilised elsewhere - I checked with the lady who made it. My thinking is to try to match the blue, I think the pink would be a bit too overpowering.
Wormed the horses yesterday - much licking and very wary of me afterwards. Think I was forgiven by this morning as they wolfed there feed down and then out onto the prairie. We desperately need rain. One of the farmers is already feeding the sheep with silage - doesn't bode well for t he forthcoming winter if we don't get a drop soon.
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin aka Derek7
