Dealer servicing vehicle do you trust them VW
On the first service received the report with a amber notice stating rear brake pads 6mm(50%)
This car had very low mileage I did query this at the time and was told it was correct
Second service visit 1 year on no red or amber warning for brake pads viewed full report brake pad now reading 9mm not to impressed

Rear brakes usually fail because the discs have rusted and possibly uneven. Missus Kamiq was sounding like this at 4 years old and low mileage (the killer for rear brakes).0

Servicing? It’s all a big scam.0

No I don’t trust them! Husbands car went in to main dealer for service and was told there was a major fault. Not safe to drive and would cost £1500 to repair. We decided not to leave it with them (had already started not to trust them as was always something wrong) and booked it into local garage. Got a phone call from the new garage telling me they couldn’t see anything wrong - 3 mechanics had taken a look and they had even called in a mechanic from a neighbouring garage to make sure they weren’t missing it! Had the car for several years after with no issues but never went back to that dealer.1

It’s called a visual health check for a reason. It’s only visual - no measurements are taken aside from tyre tread depth.
It is designed to sell more parts and workshop hours. It will be promoted as a courtesy but it’s upsell.
It will be unnecessarily rigorous because both the technician and service advisor bonuses will depend on it.
Naturally when you incentivise human beings you encourage the kinds of behaviours that are detrimental to the bank accounts of the customer.2 -
Not forgetting very few Manufacture's actually own the garages. They are franchises. So when you see a A Clark & the rest of these groups selling the big brands. They are franchises.
The level of service & behaviour such as this varies a lot.Life in the slow lane0 -
Dealer called to say tyre need replaced.
My husband had checked them the day before the service and they were okay.
when this was pointed out there was silence at the other end.0 -
I don't trust them. They are there for one reason, to make money.
But I need them to stamp my service book for the warranty.
The actual servicing they do for the £250 is bollox. We know that, they know that. It's just a game.

Not all car dealers are bad.
I had an alert on the car for rear disc replacement. When I went to pick the car up from the dealer, they informed me the sensor cable had snapped and the discs were good for another 15,000 miles. A much smaller bill than expected.
On another occasion, handbrake shoes needed replacing, but when they started working on them, they just needed a clean to be effective again.0
