Can I get this cheaper for a year than paying £45/yr for anti virus, been expired 45 days now but I rarely use my computer. Is there a cheaper way?

Cheaper? Yes, don't use it.
Assuming you are running a Windows machine that is kept updated with latest releases from MS then the ibuilt-in Windows Defender is sufficient.4 -
As the man said just do not use McAfee.
Instead, use Windows Defender which comes free and is already installed on your computer.

You should uninstall McAfee in case it causes any unwanted interference (and if it's still there you can bet it will regularly ask you if you want to pay for it again).0

McAfee has been known not to leave quietly when asked to do so. In which case you will need to use the
