Morning everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off Gers.
Hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday. xx12 -
Good morning, thanks Gers.
It's fine here, maybe it'll be a fine weekend for those with plans to do things. We have no plans, don't know if anyone else is doing anything exciting.
Hope your dgd is recovering after her operation TA.
Also thoughts to others who are sad or poorly.
Take care folks.12 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @Gers
Evenings and early morning are definitely starting to feel cooler.
Garden is desperate for rain, water butts are empty. Tomatoes and cucumbers in the greenhouse are doing well.
Kitchen needs a deep clean, so I'll make a start today
TA pleased your DGD had her op, wishing her a speedy recovery.
Mehefin, love the waistcoat
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12 -
Good morning, Gers and Iris, thanks for the start.
Well, guess what, another dull start, although tomorrow promises to be warm and sunny. Doesnt matter no special plans.
We were gifted 18 farm fresh eggs yesterday. Mr NDs son visited with them, but Mr ND had bought eggs the day before (Mrs ND is still in hospital). So they were gratefully received. Maybe dippy eggs and toast for breakfast.
Dinner last night was cheese and onion burgers from Al*I, voted a success. Today will be a roast to use up the lamb from Easter, hopefully starting to run the freezer down in anticipation of winter bargains. I'm also making a bread pudding using up all the scraps of bread found in the freezer.
No other plans, will see what the day brings, I know theres more rugby on TV.
TA, hope your dgd is home and continues to improve.
Have a good day all whatever you're doing, take care.12 -
Morning allLooking to be a warm day with hardly any wind which makes a nice change. Nothing planned today except to start the next book in the series I'm reading, thai curry for dinner and as we have an excess of milk apple crumble and custard for tea.Have a good day all x12

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
No particular weather here this morning! It's dull with the promise of rain, first for a few weeks. It does look like it rained a little overnight but not enough to make a difference to the dust bowl of a garden.
Lovely day at DS1s for the baby's first birthday although all a bit over the top. It was nice to see all the children playing together and we stayed outside as the weather was good, just started to drizzle a bit when we left.
Love the waistcoat Mehefin.
Pleased to hear your DGD had her op TA, hope she makes a speedy recovery.
I have a shopping trolly Scarlet, I like to walk to Aldi if I can, saves taking the car out as it's not far.
Hope you've got your packing sorted Ruby.
Boiler service this morning then I really must do some food shopping, the fridge looks a little bare. I've an adjustment to make to the little one's new fairy dress so will get that done later too.
No bank holiday here, enjoy it if you have one. Take care. XX12 -
Morning all. Dull here but I expect it will warm up later.
Yesterday's walk was a shorter 2 hrs and we didn't get lost! We did some geocaching along the way and checked on one of ours, which sadly has gone missing. I've now taken it out of play and won't be placing any more, which is a weight off my mind as caches need maintenance work from time to time.
Today I'm making shortbread to take to a friend on Tuesday and then we'll have an early lunch as I'm off to a pub music session late afternoon.
DS actually rang on the land line yesterday, which was a surprise. He wanted to ask his dad about fixing something to the wall in their flat. He messages from time to time but rarely phones.
Pleased to hear TA's DGD has had her operation and hope it all goes well from now on.
@Coxy11; have you landed yet?!
Happy Sunday everyone.

Morning again - thanks to all who have posted. And thanks to @TA for the news about DGD, it's good that the op has been done.I'm pleased to report that I eventually got motivated enough to cut the grass in the back garden. The farmer had been out earlier with his ride-on doing all the verges of the track so I felt shamed into it. And then I was so pleased with myself!
It was too late to take the cuttings to the tip so that'll be a job for today.
No bank holiday here so it's everything as normal, well, as normal as usual. This time last year I was in Germany celebrating the birthday of a cousin so I'll look at the photos and think back - I've already sent him an email.I hope that everyone is doing well, gardening, cooking, walking or slothing. Hugs to all.12 -
Morning all, thanks for the start off Gers.
I was awake at daft o'clock again, this is becoming a habit I don't like as find I'm wilting mid afternoon and I don't want the afternoon nanna nap to become the norm.
I have put a load in the wm with another waiting it's turn, hope fully the sun will show itself, it is trying to come out but we still have the some wind and it's warmer so I'm hoping it will dry outside.
Later I'll make a cottage pie for dinner and a banana and sultana bread for pudding, I'll do the latter in the air fryer.
Hope everyone has a good day, hugs to the poorly ones. Hope the holiday makers are enjoying themselves.
Take care all
nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. We are supposed to be getting sunny intervals today but no sign of them yet! And still no rain. Feeling mild again so that's a bonus.
Hairdresser arrived on time yesterday but the cutting was delayed whilst she showed me hundreds of wedding photos! Everything was done as cheaply as she could and honestly you couldn't tell. Her dress and shoes from Vinted, little bridesmaids dresses off Shein, bigger ones off Vinted and young boys suits also Vinted. I was amazed as it all looked so classy. Her late mum, a friend of mine, would have been so proud as she was an avid bargain spotter too.
A day of semi sloth today methinks. But I must water all the pots at the back before everything dies off completely. But we are forecast rain mid week if it happens. YL I got on the Priority list with Yorkshire Water as you recommended but I can't bring myself to use the hose for fear of hostility from neighbours who don't know about it! But if it comes to standpipes (I have heard vague threats of it) I won't have to lug buckets around as I am registered for water getting delivered! So thanks for telling me about it.
Easy lunch today. Some sliced beef in gravy from the freezer, Idahoan mash and assortment of veg. And I think there are some Yorkshires hiding in the freezer too.
Thanks for the good wishes for DGD. They were duly settled at the caravan last night until next Friday but DD says she still seems to be in a lot of pain despite strong painkillers so we'll see how it goes. Middle DGD not with them, she's at home with DD's DP as she has lots of shifts at the tea room this coming week.. She's been working almost full time through the school hols and will miss all the extra money when she is back at school next week!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and convalescing DHs. MEHEFIN I love that waistcoat, so stylish! Take care all and be safe xx
