LVT and carpet join

Hi
I'm putting down some self levelling in my hallway for glue down LVT. This needs to join to carpet in the lounge which will be renewed later.
There's a double gripper rod in the doorway as there was carpet in the hallway too.
Just wondering if this can be reused
as it's pinned down through Thermoplastic tiles. I guess stop the self levelling at the gripper and then cover that side with a suitable strip.
Any ideas appreciated.
