Morning all
Its a little bit overcast here this morning but the sun is due to make an appearance later, wm is on so that washing can be hung out after.
Im going to start my packing later, I won’t put many clothes in yet just toiletries etc and sort out what clothes I want to take and put them to one side.
Bbq for dinner again 😃 I will go and see what we have as sides but we have plenty of veg and salad, tomorrow my sister and her partner and mum are coming for a bbq so I need to organise food for that too.
Housework to do this morning and OH will walk the dogs later.
I hope Mehefin is ok not seen him for a while xx
Have good days all and take care xx6 -
Thanks for today's start @Scarlet and a good morning to all. The sun was shining when I got up but has now disappeared - looking at the forecast I doubt it will be back any time soon today! Cloudy, light winds from the south so fairly mild at 20 deg and the occasional shower possible in the afternoon.
Yesterday I emailed a list of the not needed tools to the charity I found, I hope they will take at least some of them. I also had a text with a link to view my recent diabetic eye check results online but, despite already being registered with an NHS account, can't view them unless I re-register, set up a new password etc.No thank you, I'll wait for the snail mail paper copy. It won't be arriving today as the postman has already been - nothing for me but I do have a parcel for NDN.
The only thing I have planned for the BH weekend is to paint the radiator in the hallway before the heating goes back on. It's the one nearest to the boiler and, unlike all the others in the house, doesn't have a TRV so it's either on or off. Something to do with how the heating system works apparently. Other than that, I'm going to have a chilled weekend of doing not a lot.Tea tonight is a h/m tuna & sweetcorn pasta bake from the freezer.
I hope everyone has a good BH weekend whether it's busy or not, that the poorly ones or their loved ones continue to make good progress and sleep doesn't elude the sleepless. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.6 -
Morning all from a sunny Mehefinland
It has been dire and dull for most of the week and I did go into hermit mode for a while. Sun finally showed its nose yesterday and I got too much - felt decidedly unwell in the evening . Ok now though after lots of water and a reasonable night's sleep.
The jobs seem to be mounting up so I must make an attempt at a start soon whilst the weather looks to be holding.
Cant' remember if I said but have got myself a waistcoat (as requested by future DIL ) for the wedding next year. It is vintage Japanese silk made from an obi ( you will have to Google that one!!) A bit different from my usual style but what the heck. If I can work out how to post a picture I will.
Just been to farm shop to get some wormers for the nags - had a test done and they both are mid-range so it needs doing sooner rather than later. That will go down well lol. They hate having it done, and I usually get covered too. There was a farmer's market on too , but nothing took my fancy.
Right,here goes !
Hugs and spoons as always

Hello all, I had a bad night and woke at silly o'clock. I took a cuppa back to bed and haven't long reappeared, oops.
I did my tidying and cleaning yesterday, good job I did as a relative of Mr Fix Its arrived with an 80th birthday party invite for her Mums surprise party. Trouble is it's mid Sept and we're away but as it's only 45mins travel time we might come back for the party and just stay home for the night, we'll see how things go.
Today I have nothing planned plus it's overcast so the washing will wait till tomorrow as it's meant to be sunny. I have my book and a new film downloaded so it will be a day of sloth.
BBQ pork for tea tonight, not my favourite flavour but I'll try it.
Camelot enjoy yourself at the party
Yorkslass we've registered with the NHS app but can't view anything, such a waste of time.
Crisca bet your DH is relieved to have the catheter removed, hope they can sort the hearing aids.
Scarlet are you going to name your trolley, Dolly or Wally perhaps 😁
TA how's your DGD after her op ? Hope she's ok.
WL I would say you deserved your fish and chips
Gers that's my type of shopping, just in one or two shops. Long gone are the shopping marathons that lasted all day. I can't even do a full shop now the old legs refuse to move after a the veg aisle 😁
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need and those in recovery.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently7 -
I forgot to update on DGD in my earlier hurried post
Op went ahead as planned but was kept in overnight. Just waiting for her dad to pick her up then going to caravan with my DD and youngest for a few days. She expects to have the pot on for about 2 months.xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9
