Morning Scarlet, morning allLooking a bit brighter than the forecast out there today, so far anyway!DH had his catheter removed yesterday so he's happy about that. I got my hearing aids. Not too sure yet. The domes (technical term for what goes in the ear
) are alot larger and it feels like when you are talking you have your fingers in your ears. I go back in 2 weeks to see how I'm getting on but I'm not sure if they are worth the money, so far anyway.
Nothing much going on here today. Lemon sponge to make later. Might go out in the garden as it could do with a tidy. Runner beans not come to much this year, plenty of flowers but lots seem to die off before they turn in to the runner beans!Have a good day all x9 -
Morning again, not a bad one here. It's a bit cool, but I find that I sleep better when it's cooler.
Yesterday was an ok day, I don't think there's much planned for today. Maybe an outing to the shops with my new shopping trolley - it's really light, and looks quite smart.
I keep forgetting that it's a Bank holiday weekend, not that it makes much difference to us. We might go somewhere if the weather forecast is ok.
A friend had asked me to look round her new house with her, she hasn't moved in yet but has the keys. It's lovely, I came home with a bit of house envy!
She came round last night, and brought her wedding photo album, and I got ours out. They were married 2 years before us and our albums were practically identical in design and decoration.
It was nice to look at the photos though, and the fashions of the late 1960's, we did have a bit of a laugh.
I was out a lot yesterday and still haven't read back, so I'm hoping that everyone is all right, and has good days. Take care folks.11 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
Dry this morning so the washing is out, I stripped my bed last night as need to be out early this morning - it's youngest DGDs 1st birthday party I'm cadging a lift with DD and family so only need to get to theirs. The little one will keep me entertained in the car!
I have the boiler service tomorrow morning (it's a miracle I didn't have to re-book for a better date and time) so last night I pulled out the freezer to clean behind it in case the chap can't get in and I have to move it. Thank goodness I did or I would have been mightily embarrassed by the amount of cobwebs! Anyway, all clean now.
Hope DGD had her op and is recovering TA.
Pleased to hear your OH's procedure went well yesterday Chrisca and you get used to your new hearing aids.
Also hoping the knee replacement patient is recovering (sorry, can't remember who's OH it is!)
Fantastic weight loss Gers.
Congrats to those with exam results - good or bad they will all have worked hard.
Hope everyone is well and you have a good weekend. Take care. XX10 -

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET for kicking off. It's the usual grey start here with yet again no sun in the offing. We might even get a bit of light rain if we are lucky!
Busy morning for me. SS with DS (brought forward from tomorrow as they are tripping off for the day) and then back to wash my hair in readiness for the hairdresser coming late morning. It saves her a job if I wash it first. It's only a month since I had it cut but DF is in need of hers cutting so me and the other ladies agreed to keep in synch. Late BFFs DH is passing this time as his doesn't need a trim yet. He hasn't much hair to start with!
No plans for this afternoon but it might well end up a slothful one. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Good morning
Another grey start to the day. Yesterday's sun didn't last for long before the cloud took over.
Today's job will be a freezer tidy so I can fit more apples in, badly needs it as I cant remember all what's in there, so may have a few surprises. Other than that nothing else planned, OH will probably be watching the rugby so I may pop out to my friends, it's her birthday next week so I can deliver her card.
Have a good day all, take care.8 -
Morning all - thanks for the start @Scarlet. It's still gloomy here, I've turned on the table lamp.@Chrisca - my NHS upgraded hearing aid is brilliant. The wee domes (I call them tulips) come in different sizes so so back to get them changed. I had the same sensation, as if underwater, and now the smaller ones are good. My aid connects to my phone, I can answer a call by tapping the top of it. If your expensive ones are suiting you then don't take them. My late DM spent so much on hers and they never worked! My little jaunt yesterday was made more pleasant with the company of a friend. We didn't linger long, one shop for me and then I dropped off some textiles at the big bin whilst my friend went into the shop for one item. We had a good natter on the way there and back.As for today, no idea. I won't be going out anywhere far as the main roads will be jammed with bank-holiders coming or going somewhere. I have enough to do and watch here. The grass hasn't been cut yet so that definitely on the cards for sometime this weekend before the weather breaks. My closest friends have been caught up in Storm Erin (they're in the USA) and had a rough time the last couple of days.10

Morning all. Yesterday turned really warm late morning and I think today might do the same.
We had the worst walk ever yesterday, at least as far as getting lost goes! We missed a footpath early on but managed to rectify that quite easily but then we got completely lost trying to follow a permissive path through a private estate. We had a printed route but I think the signage had changed and the route shown on our map was no longer indicated. When we finally got out (by turning around and retracing our steps back to the beginning) we took the alternative route around the outside of the estate, only to take another wrong turning and end up on the edge of the next village! We finally made our way back but ended up walking almost 7 miles, instead of the 4 indicated on the route. I then tucked into fish and chips at a nearby pub and felt I'd earned it
Today I shall stick to the safety of the supermarket and might make some shortbread.
Off to hang out today's washing and realise I haven't washed a nice white t shirt I like wearing - oh well.
Hugs to all and have a good weekend.10 -
Morning everyone scarlet you did make me laugh my youngest sister has been married 34 years and the is five of us all girls when I look at her wedding photos of us all stood together her in her meringue wedding dress and the rest of us look like members of Duran Duran I had the biggest curly perm ever thank goodness fashions change . Well it’s dry mild and bright today we are getting my friends little dog later she is going on a weeks holiday he is no bother except for having to turn the television up when he’s asleep boy can he snore I’ve found some stewing steak in the freezer that is definitely the last so I’m going to make some stews today and freeze for a easy meal later and that is definitely the last of the stuff I wanted to use up although when I have a look about there’s not many bargains to be had lately I haven’t a clue what we are having tonight it will be something easy . I think my washer has about finished it should dry I will do upstairs today and that’s out of the way . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

@Gers my NHS ones do all that too. The chap set the new ones up for me to my phone and put an app on there too. They all worked. Charged them overnight and now are they hit and miss if I can hear anything through them on my phone. So annoying. I'm due to go back in 2 weeks to see how I'm getting on with them but I think I'll ask for my money. back and stick with good old NHS ones. I really thought they would be tons better but so far I'm disappointed.8
