Car issues

I bought a used car in November 2023 from local citroen dealer Wingrove. After two days of having the car engine warning light came on. Took it back and they 'fixed' it. I had a years warranty on the car. The warning light came on again. The car was very intermittent at starting, sometimes straight away sometimes took 5, 10, 20plus times to start. Car went back to garage at least 8 times within the warranty year. They fixed the starting issue. The engine warning ight continued to come on. They claimed to have changed the cat and the o2 sensor. Warranty ended and car was fine for a few months. I was given no paperwork to show that had been done.
Wingrove garage was then bought out by Arnold Clark and try shut the citroen garage where my car was from.
A few months later my engine warning light came on again. Took it to my local garage who has now replaced both 02 sensors, a new cat and new exhaust. He said he can only see that one new o2 sensor has been put on by cittoen, defo not a new cat. I have had to pay £850 to get this all replaced.
Engine warning light has come on again.
As my original cittoen garage had closed, I contacted the other Wongrove garage to see if they have any records on my car. I have contacted citroen and armold vlark and no one has records on my car.
Feel like I was sold a dud, and I've still got another 3 years on my pcp contract.
Is there anything I can do?

You were given zero paperwork on this warranty when you bought the car, nearly two years ago? Do you know which warranty provider it was with?

Whether the cat was changed under the warranty or not wouldn't affect the issue now - the cat has failed, whether that be the first time or again, and you need to replace it. Nobody but you will pay for it now.

I don't understand why you have no paperwork.  Do you have a service history for the car or any ownership documentation?
What are the T&C of the PCP?  Who is the contract with and what does it say about maintenance of the vehicle?
With all the issues you had from your second day of ownership, did you ever think that the car might be a dud and that you should take it back for a refund?
You should check the T&C of your PCP.  Maybe you can give the car back and get the contract cancelled.  But without evidence of what's happened..maybe you can't

You're coming up for two years of ownership. Sounds like you have an averagely unreliable Citroen.

As it's on a fancy version of HP, the consumer credit act does give you the option to walk away and if you've paid half of the credit, nothing further to pay

The "no records" is normal for a Citroen.  Stellantis don't co-ordinate anything between franchises and don't seem to have a centralised system for logging services and work done.

Not much you can do after nearly 2 years except pay for it to be fixed and either keep it or get rid. To get rid you will need to settle the finance- if you are lucky you can sell it for close to the settlement figure and only have to pay a small amount.

You can VT (voluntary termination) the pcp if you have paid at least half of the total credit- including any "guaranteed final value" of the car, this is very unlikely 2 years into a 5 year PCP, so you would have to make a cash payment of the difference between what you have paid and half.

To VT the car will need to be mechanically perfect when you hand it back, or they either won't accept it, or will bill you for the repair at the maximum rate possible.

I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

The fact it's a reoccurring intermittent fault that goes away for a while when parts are changed but then comes back a short while later could indicate damaged wiring as the underlying cause. Worth getting the wiring checked before throwing more parts at it.
