Morning all and thanks @Gers for starting us off today. It's another largely cloudy but dry day when we might get up to 19 deg. Yesterday the sun unexpectedly showed its face for a few hours so it felt milder out than forecast; unfortunately for me it doesn't get round to my living room until late afternoon so it was quite chilly in there, especially in the evening. It's very tempting to whack the heating on for a while but it seems far too early in the year for that.
I ploughed through yesterday's planned jobs and today I'm back to the usual end of week admin. I have a small wool wash of hand knits to put on, the hems on the two shortened dresses need pressing and the living room could do with a quick dust and vac. It's Friday so it must be fish for tea with fruit & jelly for afters.
@Scarlet - Happy new trolley day!
@Chrisca - I hope DH's post op check up goes well and that your hearing aids are all good.
@TA - I have my fingers crossed your DGD's op goes ahead as planned today and wish her a swift recovery.
@nanny - Good luck with getting a GP appointment, I hope they manage to fit you in before you go away.
Nothing else to waffle on about so I'll leave you all with a wish for a good day and hugs for the poorly ones, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
Morning all
Lovely day here but with a chill in the air, wm is doing its thing so will hang it out once it’s done.
I am off for a pedicure this afternoon for my holiday it’s a bit too early really but the young lady who does it is away next week so I’m sure it will be fine, I think I will go for a deep red colour on my nails.
I have had an email this morning someone else interested in my PA profile, she sounds lovely but I don’t have any space atm, I will reply and keep her details for the future, they are looking for residential for Matt so I will have a space at some point.
Pizza and salad for dinner tonight nice and easy, dd is working a late shift so just OH and I here for dinner.
TA I hope all goes well for your dgd today xx
Well done to those youngsters who had their results xx
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
I'm back again. No joy on an app before hols but I knew that as I'd already seen a receptionist who told me to ring again before I come home as the GP app book doesn't go that far ahead. Anyway I asked the receptionist to put a record on my notes to say I will ring later as requested instead of bombarding me with daily texts. It's only to discuss my latest blood results about my kidney function and it can't be that bad or the GP would ring me, I think.
Coxy thanks, the RA is unpredictable and can strike anywhere at any time, plus it is very painful and debilitating, but thankfully normally passes after a couple of days.
Yorkslass thanks but no joy. I'm also having fish for tea, but I'll have that any day of the week over a slab of meat ! Mr Fix It on the other hand loves his meat but can't eat fish as he's allergic, so it's all for me then 😁
Redruby hopefully you can keep the people you have on your books. It's a good idea to keep some reserves.
Right I'll finish my coffee and then do the dusting.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -
@nanny - Sorry you didn't get an appointment although I suspected that might be the case. It's the same at our medical centre that, in my opinion, has far too many patients on its books and yet they're still saying they can take on new people!!! And a definite Yes to fish in preference to meat.

I'm another who.prefers fish to meat. Scampi for tea yesterday and piece of fish defrosting for tea today. Just a pity fish is so expensive these days.
I almost got excited earlier! Heavy drops of rain hitting the back windows but they stopped as fast as they started!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"7 -
Afternoon all, bit late today. Hubby got home around 5 yesterday so I've been quite busy. He seems better than when he had his hip done at the end of last year. He didnt sleep too well so had a longer lie in than usual, then did his exercises. Not much of an appetite yet so something easy for tea. We've been busy replying to lots of messages and phone calls. We had a few spots of rain too, but bits of blue sky are appearing now, ready for the BH. Once DH was up and fed I took Ldog out, he was very excited when DH got home last night. Walks seem to take longer now because people keep stopping me to greet him, a lady yesterday remembered Lyladog.TA, hope it goes well for DGD ankle, and well done on GCSE results, I'm hearing of a few good results locally. Coxy enjoy your trip! Can't remember much else sorry, hope all is ok.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)7
