Woodworm In Furniture

I purchased a coffee table last December. Its now showing evidence of woodworm, only a few holes with fine sawdust but enough to make me move it out the house.
Luckily no other parts of the house have any evidence.

Ive emailed the company but had no reply. Is anyone able to tell me how I stand from a legal point of view?
Im planning on having a professional look at the table and house to determine that the woodworm is contained and did originate in the table.

Thank you

Need to establish where they have come from first. If the professional produces a report stating that they are in the table and no-where else in the house, then you should be looking for a repair or replace. The retailer can choose the most cost effective option. If neither are available they can refund and deduct for the use you have had.

Its over 6 months old so its up to you to prove they were present at the point of purchase rather than it becoming infested since you took ownership.
