Trying to fit washing machine in new property

So we are moving into a new rental and I'm confused with with how to fit our washing machine.

We had issues with installing in our current place as the waste pipe was too high for the hose so it wouldn't drain. We were finally told to hose has to be lower than the washing machine hight.

In the new property, there appears to be access to under the sink right at the very top and the letting agent has said that we have the current connection on the waste pipe though this is not angled and I don't see any space for the hose to fit.

Should I get an angled pipe section and try to connect through the top access?

    What 'angled pipe section'?
I don't understand why the hose connector faces the cabinet wall an what is this grey bit between the connector and the wall, but the whole tee connector can easily be turned around the vertical axis to any direction.

You mean the Diet Coke bottle lid? Someones ingenious way of stopping it leaking whilst nothing is connected would be my guess

The section under the sink will rotate to help you attach waste pipe. (Esp if you loosen the white connectors above and below by half a turn.)

It will probably work.  Certainly seemed to work ok for previous washing machine.

Thars the part that I though needed to be facing upwards. Tee connector?

Tee connector is a big part for 40mm pipes with a hose connector attached to it.

You can turn it. The hose connector (nuzzle) can face up, but not necessarily if the hose fits it tight. You can possibly (not sure*) replace it with  https://www.screwfix.com/p/mcalpine-domestic-appliance-nozzle-1-/720jg

    * I think the thread diameter is different. But the whole tee with the nozzle can be replaced:

    OR https://www.screwfix.com/p/flomasta-appliance-tee-piece-connector-white-48mm/810jn - NO, it's 48mm, not 40.
